Don't sell it Brian, despite the CA, that looks great.
Thanks Fly, it's too late now
The Hassy 110 Planar has a similar CA profile to the ZF85 Planar which I used before. Quite severe purple and green fringing of OOF areas at large apertures on high contrast edges.
To be fair, these super contrasty ice shots would be pretty difficult for any lens. I guess only the best APO lenses would handle better. I'd get the Hassy superachromat, but I need to win the lottery first
Thankfully, the color fringing is easily fixed in post, at least it was for these shots.
If you have any suggestions on a ~100mm ~f2 lens with no CA, I'd be happy to hear you out. I was thinking of replacing the lens with the C/Y Planar 100mm f2 or the ZF/ZF2 Planar 100mm f2. I also own the Contax N Macro-Sonnar 100mm f2.8, but it's currently not usable on NEX, so I can't say anything about it.
While not up the the incredibly high standards in this thread (you guys are awesome!) here's a couple I shot yesterday with the 5N/kit zoom. Overcast sky, & a piece of foamboard for a background and we're off…
@Mike the G90 seems to be a great macro lens as well, its on top of my shopping list
Because i shot a lot with my Zeiss glass i forgot about my Minoltas, but today i went out with my MC 35/1.8 and 100/4 Macro, i had forgotten how much they can pop:
