Hello Jacob, thanks for asking. Yes, this is the jpg BW straight from the camera, with +3 contrast setting. I wanted to use Vivid BW, but I cannot figure out how to do RAW with that on NEX C3, and so I found the results from the monochrome filter with +3 got me close enough to the Vivid BW look, with the bonus of a RAW file.
There is of course the inherent nastiness of a web upload to flickr, who has their own sharpening algorithms.
I find the BW jpgs from the NEX to be beautiful and silvery out of the cam, this was an unexpected surprise, and I plan to use them often.
JacobD - you're being too hard on yourself and the Nokton. These nighttime images are great. Really difficult subject both artistically and technically and you nailed it.

Jacob: Very big +1. Those are really, really great. There is an interesting content, you captured the mood perfectly, colors and compositions are top notch and PP as well.
For uniformely bright scenes like the last one, I think I'll have to try Cornerfix. Also, there's quite a bit of field curvature at close distance with the Summicron, that I didn't see on the M8. Probably due to the thickness of the sensor filter.
Martin: Very nice, all of them. I really, really like your meticulous compositions and the well-tempered use of the sliders in PP (nowadays unfortunatly the exception rather than the rule).
