Thanks! It was my first try with a new, small tripod; a Benro C0180T that is a nice match for the NEX system. The 15/4.5 is great, but flares sometimes. I had to clone out a few blue blobs from the Beckomberga shot.
Sebboh, excellent duck shot. The distagon is producing fine results in your hands
Mco, excellent shots especially #1 and #2! I never guessed its from a kit lens if you didnt tell in the first place
Sean, the 24 does look very crisp in the 2nd shot.
Andrew, excellent colors! 125 SL?
Noodlz79, excellent shots with the 85L
Martin, your 2nd is superb. I use the ZM 50 Planar on the NEX. It is a very sharp lens! It's relatively a bargain in M mount

@all today i was asked if i could recommend a longer tele lens around 400mm for less than 1000€, any recommendations?
canon FD 400/4.5
nikkor 400/5.6 ED or ED-IF AIS
nikkor 400/3.5 ED-IF
nikkor 300/2.8 ED-IF AIS with a teleconverter (gotta be a little beat up externally to stay under the price limit)
i haven't shot with any of these but i've seen solid pictures from all of them. i'm pretty happy with my leica R 350/4.8, but i try not to use in on the NEX.
i've heard the sigma 400/5.6 APO is actually pretty good too, but i've not seen many actual pictures. it's super cheap though.
if anyone sees a rokkor 400/5.6 APO for a reasonable price, i really want it.

thanks sebboh, do you know anything about the canon FD Ls like 300/4 oder 300/2.8?
why do you try not to use the leica on your nex? i always liked your bird shots with it.
there is a rokkor 400/5.6 for sale in the US, for less thank 1k, you even get some fungus for your money!
i believe both the FD Ls are supposed to be slightly better than the 400/4.5, but obviously shorter.
i don't like to use the leica on the NEX because it's too hard to track small birds without a viewfinder and i have a camera with a viewfinder to use it on. the lens is big enough that sticking an a55 onto the back end of it doesn't add much to it's size.
yeah, that price on the fungus infested lens is kinda ridiculous. even if the lens was new in the box it would still be kinda high.

Wow, that is quite a set Andrew, I think anyone who appreciates color would consider this series a win, although I confess I like the first shot the best.
Renders perfectly in Firefox 10.0.2 btw, the colors are extremely pleasing.

Andrew, Sebboh, Martin, Xavier, really nice stuff! Worthy of more detailed praise, but just don't have the time.
Martin, I had a ZM 50 f:2.0 on my NEX 5, and it was a really impressive lens in all areas. One of the very best ZMs, to be sure!
On my side, one point that hasn't been discussed too much about the 7: how well it handles high dynamic range situations. Typical churches fall under that category. This time, NEX 7 and ZM 35 f:2.0 @ f:2.8, handheld
First is a desaturated image of sunflowers in front of the new MD Anderson building from the 24mm Canon FD at 2.0, ISO 100, 1/1250sec. I added color to 1 of the sunflowers.
Did a test with 24mm lenses on the 5N. I thought the FD 24/2.0 was great until I compared it to the ZA 24/1.8. I think even the kit lens has less CA. A closeup 100% crop at about 6 feet. Columns are ZA/FD/kit, Rows: f/2, 4 and 8 (there was a bit of noise at f8 for the ZA and kit lenses as the iso was too high.)
[Edit, as pointed out by others the FD shots are all at f/2 since I forgot to lock the adapter.]
[Edit - image unlinked as I redo the test]
Last is a mid-distance crop at f/2 iso 100. Left is the ZA and right is the FD. I was going to send the ZA back to Amazon but it looks like I might get rid of the FD lens. Focus was on the trunk of the tree using live view with focus peaking. Sorry about the different angle and lighting conditions.
There are some great photos on this page. So fun to look through this thread, with all the variety and quality work! I am finding NEX really ruins my workflow - I try to get some work done, and I end up taking pictures instead. A simple trip to the gas station takes twice as long.
Pano of Wildlife Refuge - 5N + CY28, 5 shots or so.
