Bob
Fantastic shots of the skyline and others from Minneapolis! You are listed as Milwaukee, have you transplanted yourself from the city of beer?

Alan,
Indeed I have recently moved from Milwaukee to Minneapolis. Like many of my address changes, this site is yet another I need to update! Thanks for reminding me.

apiel123 - Those shots with the 24 are great!

A few more from my outing yesterday:

Rji2goleez, I very much like the treatment on your 2d and 3d photos. Do you use Nik software for that?

Thanks. I do use NIK software but in this case, these are lightroom presets that either I created or modified from their original/initial settings.

Uhoh7, how do you like the handling on the Sigma 8-16? Are you using the Sony mount version? Does it have a manual aperture ring?

ahhh, now you give me excuse to torture the troops with one more wide---over fiddled

all these from just an hour ago I know first sample shows lens better than this one

the sigma: I use LAEA-1, just because 2 was not made when I bought sigma--thus aperture is in camera, but focus does not work. Yes it is the sony mount.

Now that I use zm18 alot, I want to bring the sigma when i can. It seems pretty good--but obviously not small.

Sometimes I muse to get 70400g and LAEA-2--then I think I could focus this lens auto. Seem really expensive, but not compared to my other lust: leica 135 APO.

Hi Mike,

A big thank you. You were in time as I have not trimmed the lens. I will park it in the cupboard for now and wait for the NEX 7n or Full frame.

Cheers

Andrew

Andrew,

I should have mentioned that even with the ears trimmed there is significant degradation on the edges and corners of the image on the Nex7. If your intent is to see if trimming the ears will make it work, I would say don't do it as I'm pretty sure it will not help and you'll end up with a lens worth less due to the trimming.

On the Nex5n though it worked very well for me and with the ears trimmed I had it mounted on the adapter and ready to use without the fiddling of mounting the adapter first

Too many great pics to comment... Keep 'em coming.

Some random pics with the Hassy, and a few test shots with the tilt adapter.

I'll try to simulate some miniature effects once I figure out a good high viewpoint to shoot from.

The shot inside the ski lift is quite interesting. Makes me wish Sony would get off their butts already and release that e-mount wide angle zoom sooner than later.

I still have the taste of that apple core in my mouth....but I must agree

@jabberwockt

why not just a f/5.6 8mm pancake? Sharp and with minimal distrotion--as possible.
