I hope you don't take offense to it or anything, Wilhelm. It is a nice picture. You could likely clean up the purple pretty easily with CornerFix, if it bothered you, but you should keep it how you like.

I've heard of those as well but it's too clunky for my taste. The fotodiox adapter seems to incorporate it's own aperture control but it seems clunkier than the Conurus/metabones approach. Of course, for $300 less, if it works, it might be a happy middle ground.

The aperture control is worthless Conurus is the way to go, I believe. Mine arrived today. Time to go Alt wi Canon lenses!

Thanks so much guys! I envy your keen eyes Doug, but lacking that it makes me even happier to share some taste with image wizards like Jacob and sebboh :-)

I really like your image with the G21. That lens has some characters! I am going to start using mine on the NEX 5N.

A couple more with the Contax 45 from a recent trip to central Florida (I only packed my 5N+G45+CV15, and my vertebrae couldn't be happier about it):

Not necessarily a picture taken with the NEX, but some NEX pr0n. Looking forward to posting some pictures up here when I get some good results!

legaltrouble - there seems to be some purple cast at the top of your first (stunning) sunset image

alwang - love those technology pics

Wilhelm - I'm thinking of looking for a G21 after seeing all of those Stockholm images

uhoh7 - that first shot is a beauty

Beautiful.

I think a nice B&W treatment will really make this image sing.

by the way, the shallow depth of field is intentional - to direct you straight to their desperate eyes and also mask the not-so-pretty background of the shelter. All shot with the Rokkor 50 1.2 on a Nex5.

Today i tested a newly acquired Minolta MC 35/1.8 in the field, its even bigger than my Minolta 58/1.2 and it didn't impress me shooting test-charts. My Canon nFD 35/2.0 is cheaper, smaller and better at shooting test-charts but i never liked it for shooting nature.

looks a bit quirky. i've always been tempted by this lens for my film cameras as i love the focal length and speed. everybody i've talked to that has both always tells me the 28/2 is much better though so i've stuck with that. i keep looking for a 49mm filter thread version of both those lenses though for the NEX.

in case there's somebody out there who isn't tired of these yet, here's another stitch of light rays at land's end with the contax g 45. i took 9 of these and have been letting my computer stitch them over nights. once they're all done i'll have to pick which ones are the keepers.

Uhoh, your first mountain shot is just great. I normally dont like random crop ratios but there you make the widescreen:ish format work. Great depth!

Frezeiss, love the colors in your shots. Very clean too. For me the first one is warm, the second a little cooler though.

Phillip, great series yet again. Hard to pick one since their qualities span wide. Generally the bokehs are awesome, and the sharpness of the last one is impressive.

It's really hard to get tired of those, great image! But how do you batch process photomerge - are you using ACR/Bridge - or is it another software?

First shot below is taken in daylight, whatever that means here in February. Regardless, that lighting gear is of epic performance. There's some filming going on inside the house, and probably simulating summer outside or something. Lens is Contax G21, F around 5.6 (always handheld).

...+ a crop, I had no idea how it would turn out as focus peeking went berserk:

While trimming this I listened to Jimi's Purple Haze:
