For those who are too lazy to apply Cornerfix, desaturating the Purple channel (not the Magenta channel) to 0 in Lightroom sometimes does the trick. (Assuming there is no purple/magenta in the rest of your image). Actually, I did that in both of the images posted just above.
That's an excellent suggestion! Don't know how well it'd work with my purple daisies, though,
Has anyone ever tried this EOS to NEX adapter? Seems like, and is, a much less costly way to go than the Conurus 'smart adapter' but I cannot find much information on usage or images.
I have an EOS-NEX adapter however I don't think it's even a Fotodiox product. Mine has no aperture control, but of course it's possible to pre-select a desired aperture by using the stop-down button on an EOS camera, whilst removing the lens. That method is obviously clunky, however we 'alt-ers' are willing to do such things!
I use mine occasionally with my EOS-adapted FL 55 /1.2 and even my similarly Ed Mika - adapted FD TS 35/2.8
I also had a Micro 4/3 adapter when I briefly owned a Panasonic G3, before seeing the light by replacing it with a NEX-5N
I've heard of those as well but it's too clunky for my taste. The fotodiox adapter seems to incorporate it's own aperture control but it seems clunkier than the Conurus/metabones approach. Of course, for $300 less, if it works, it might be a happy middle ground.
I also believe that I've heard that the iris in the adapter may lead to degradation, such as diffraction effects. Certainly the simple adapter I have is clunky and mine has some slight play when fitted. For about $20 it's still worth having IMO.
Phillip, nice series again. That Rokkor look mighty sharp even used quite open. As it happen I have an incoming Rokkor 21/2.8 which is going to be interesting to compare to the G21 below.
Lenticular, thanks for kind words!
Goolez, I'm happy to see those two buildings have calmed down a bit
NEX 5N + Contax G21, -15C and 10 minutes to sundown:
EDIT: Hmm, Flickr is definitively tampering both with sharpness and colors on this one :-(

No, the camera worked as usual - no speed decrease even in 7fps mode or other malfunctions.
Thanks Tomas. That's good to hear. I have not had my NEX out in any weather colder than about 19*F so I have been curious how it would handle colder weather.
I'm liking this one quite a bit. You continue to make the case for the MD 50/1.4
I can recommend the CV 15. It's not only a very sharp and wide lens, it's my smallest and lightest (I have the LTM). The color shift is the only negative.

Your cityscapes with the G21 are outstanding. The contrast of the warm buildings against cool works very well. This is a good example of a shot where the color shift doesn't bother me (or have you corrected it to some extent?).
If you feel like Flickr has worked it's evil magic on your photo, you might try exporting at 1600 wide and uploading to see if the end result looks better in the 1024 resize it will produce... this has been the magic number for me.

There still seems to be a pretty obvious purple stripe down the edges, especially on the right side.
Thanks so much guys! I envy your keen eyes Doug, but lacking that it makes me even happier to share some taste with image wizards like Jacob and sebboh :-)
