I have the ZM 50, but it gets a t less use than the Contax G 45, even though the Contax is harder to focus. The ZF will be a lot bigger, plus the adapter is longer making the whole package significantly larger.

How would you compare the optics of the zm 50 f2 and Contax G 45?

On the NEX topic, is anyone using the HVLF20S flash? I ordered one for an upcoming event - the rowdy winter night costume parade this weekend. Hoping I can use it with a Demb bounce bracket for outdoor night scenes/portraits? Anyone have thoughts about that? Not sure what lens to park on it. Could even try the CY28 and use zone focusing.
I use the HVLF20S, and it's a much better flash than the kit flash that came with the 5N. I have a Demb bounce bracket that I used with my Canon 430EX, and Nikon SB-600 flashes from the past. After trimming down some of the attaching foam and rubber, it fits nicely around the 20S and works great!

Nothing else has as good resolution or micro-contrast as the Contax G 45. The Zeiss's color balance might be a bit better. These are both very good lenses.

Image quality is superb, focusing is annoying .
And if you don't stop posting great images from the g28 i might enjoy that one as well , does it produce any noticeable color-shift on the Nex-5n?
No Phillip, I do not see that. But then I'm not into the hard-core test business. It works fine for me :-)
Today I got hold of a french fellow-FM:ers G 21. As the grey sky-blanket took a break this morning I got a chance to try it. This lens should be worse with color-shift, and corner sharpness falls compared to e.g. the G 28. These are handheld 1/80 F/5.6 (G 21 NEX 5N). Excessive detailing for sure.
The centers from that G21 certainly look very good. Can't tell if those magenta hues in the sky are from the lens or the scene. Any shots that show detail in the corners?

Nice images, in the second shot I can almost see the office I work in...
I sold my G21 because of the poor corners. Need to find a replacement.
beautiful shots jacob and wfrank! that g21 looks pretty good to me. i'm not much bothered by corner shift.

Wonderful images on this thread, as usual.
I'm envious of Sebboh's early morning strolls on the hills around SF and William's Stockholm waterfront vistas.
There was a thread recently in which somebody was interested in seeing NEXs with alt glass. I took some shots yesterday for that thread and it seems to have disappeared. Anyone got any clue what I'm talking about?
incidently the best way to search FM is to use google not the site's search engine. just enter:
"site:www.fredmiranda.com/" followed by a space and your search terms into the google search bar.

Love the first one, very nice. Any chance of seeing a photo of the camera + lens?

Thanks. The G21 brings out extreme detail for sure. Color cast doesnt bother me either but bad corners sharpness can be dull. As I see it one can always see it as a top performing 24, and when subject allows - a top performing 21.
And FWIW, sometimes I think people confuses pixel peeping corners with a bizarre fantasy that everything gets printed large (I do that myself a lot) :-)
Saw you got the C/Y 35/1.4, congratulations! I sure look forward to see what you will do with it. You span wide doing amazingly well with soft things such as the Jupiter. And while this is as shallow, it offers biting sharpness where that shallow DOF is set. Cant wait...
