By the way, we (my wife and I) will be flying into Durango on the 18th for a few days to do a meet and greet with her potential new employer. Weeee!
Cool - if you want to meet up for a cappuccino or something while your wife is interviewing, give me a shout.
On the NEX topic, is anyone using the HVLF20S flash? I ordered one for an upcoming event - the rowdy winter night costume parade this weekend. Hoping I can use it with a Demb bounce bracket for outdoor night scenes/portraits? Anyone have thoughts about that? Not sure what lens to park on it. Could even try the CY28 and use zone focusing.
I am also planning to take my 5D2 and 85 f/1.8 w/ a flash.

I see that they are selling an adapter for the NEX to use Minolta lenses. where/how are you using Nikon glass? if they can be used I would reconsider the Nex 5 with a small "pancake" lens to use with all of my Nikon glass?
they sell adapters for pretty much any mount ever made. nikon was of course one of the first they made since it is one of the most popular lens lines. there are two types of adapters: those designed only for nikon lenses that have aperture rings and those designed to allow you to change aperture even with the newer nikkor G lenses that don't have an aperture ring. you can probably find hundreds of different nikon to NEX adapters on ebay.

I can't stand it anymore so later today, I will order a 5N and try to sell my 5. In the meantime, here are a few with the zeiss biogon c 35mm on my NEX-5. These were shot run and gun style!
Welcome to the 5N, Bob. I hope you like it as much as I do, and that, like many of us, you will find it a meaningful upgrade over the 5. I am right now in the middle of a long trip, accumulating opportunities thanks to the ability to take it with me everywhere, and it is a joy to use.

Very nice series again Phillip. You seem to enjoy the G45
Image quality is superb, focusing is annoying .
And if you don't stop posting great images from the g28 i might enjoy that one as well , does it produce any noticeable color-shift on the Nex-5n?
I swear the pictures here are getting better page by page. Hats off to all of the photographers, a real inspiration to someone who has a Nex-7 pre-ordered.

+10 to that. This thread, the talent of the photographers participating, and the quality of photos coming off the NEX convinced me quickly to join in, and I'm glad I did! I think we are catching up to the other 'big' threads quickly!

Sebboh: Stunning #1. Luck or patience in waiting for the right light?
i know a spot where it is always like that in the morning if the sun is shining. that day was particularly good as there was a very low fog with an otherwise clear sky, so i figured i should head down. you can see it in jeff's photo from the same morning on the other side of town: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/969329/175#10287627
has anyone used both the zm 50mm f2 and the zf.2 50mm f1.4 on the Nex. Is there anything to say about the 2 lenses, I believe the ZM lens and its adaptor are smaller... thank you joanlvh

I have the ZM 50, but it gets a t less use than the Contax G 45, even though the Contax is harder to focus. The ZF will be a lot bigger, plus the adapter is longer making the whole package significantly larger.
Got the OM28 out for a couple of casual shots, and I am impressed with it every time I use it (which is not often enough).
This is 5N, OM28 @ 2.8 (wide open) near MFD. It is sharp as a tack and contrasty in these conditions. Not bad for ~$50! I think I must have a great copy of this lens. Now Dingo approved.

I don't have it quite yet. Later this week though!
