After waiting almost 50 days ,my Kipon adapter from Ebay finally arrived. ALready left a negative feedback to that seller, but that's a different story.
During that time, I managed to acquire the following Contax G lenses to try out:
28/2.8
45/2
90/2.8
In case you're wondering what the fourth one mounted on the camera is, it's an extra 28/2.8 that I got, but in black, to better match...Time to take some shots over the next day, and report back with some photos...
Douglas, thanks for the explanation. Right now, I'm having trouble focusing the 35 C-biogon using the 5N, I might try to get the EVF and see what happens.
Najib, didn't you have a copy of ZM 50 also? it should be interesting to see how it fares againts the Contax 45.
Paul, it looks like the CV 35/1.4 doesn't have the issues on crop that it does on FF... looks like a good lens for the money.. I may get one for indoor stuff.

i think that's the c/y not cv 35/1.4, which is a much better lens by all accounts...

if you were referring to me, the lens is C/Y 35/1.4...

..what's going on with the left side of the frame in this shot? looks like the lens or adapter are out of alignment.
Don't know, although I noticed it as well.
A) the adaptor sold by keh is a kipon. I don't know if that varies based on their supply.
B) Id genuinely forgotten how small rangefinder lenses are.
C) the lenses are MINT.
D) the adaptor is relatively 'greasy' with some schmutz working its way out on rotation..I guess that's needed to work it in. It's quite stiff to turn, but smooth so far as I can tell. The focus ring is small, I wonder how that will work in use. I can feel the screw turning...sort of click click click. Are the more expensive adapters smoother or better ergonomic ally, or is it a law of diminishing return?
I really wish I could have bought a 24/2 that's up to the quality of the two contax g lenses. Any suggestions for ~ 35 fov that's fast enough for indoors....even a 28/2. Zeiss m mount maybe? I just want wider than ~53 for indoor stuff an oreferably f2 or faster. I can see why some would prefer lenses with built in focus rings...but my nex isn't here until tomorrow...damnit!
I'm excited to have such a small kit, so not to pollute this thread further, I will maybe start a tips and tricks thread for those of use crossing into the nex side of things..button mappings, settings, etc. hopefully some of you will participate who have been on this side for a while. we will see how it goes. I've not handled a 5n for more han a second but it looks like this will be a good kit, I'm excited.
