I have the small/mini keypad which is enough for me, but if you do some heavy work you may want a regular sized keypad. I think they also make your keyboard pretend to be the keys now, too.
Seems like a neat idea, and I've seen it used in video by another photog; but that's a pretty steep price for a keypad and hotkey software.
Personally, I think it's main strong point of use would be in the studio environment where lighting is much more controlled. Things could really fly in that environment; but for weddings, I don't think it'd be all that much of an improvement.
Honestly, watching the official demo video, I work pretty much just as fast with a mouse as the guy in the video. (maybe a tad slower, of course) Virtual copies are definitely faster with the RPG from what I can see, but I can process and "x-out" just as fast with a mouse and keyboard.
It's just a matter of knowing your hotkeys. Just having you hands on ready for copy, paste, left, right and X moves you just as fast. I've pretty much trained myself to where my mouse needs to be and where my left hand commands all are.
Maybe one day when I'm shooting two-plus weddings a weekend, I could see or justify for the small improvement in speed, but that's a lot of money for minor key-binding IMO.
$170 vs $590-790. You're paying a $600 premium just for premade stickers for the keys and action template. I set up my XKeys unit in under an hour to my liking, so it definitely wasn't worth the markup for me.

I know you Pros don't mind spending come cash to save some time but this seems kind of excessive to me, too. As a comparison, check out this Logitech game board for $67:

It's really easy. For PCs they publish their own controller program and for Mac there's a program they're partnered with called ControllerMate. The info below is based on ControllerMate since that's what I'm familiar with, but I imagine the PC side is similar.
To set it up, you just hit the key you want on the keyboard and it lights up in the software. Drag that to the grid, then drag the actions you want it to perform.

I think the point was that it can be simplified, and for a lot cheaper. $600 is a bit much.

I like the look of this even better. It would work with my games at the same time. I shall be digging a little deeper into what kind of monster I can create for around $70.
The youtube video of the guy with the Logitech keyboard, him navigating through the "WB-> saturation" can already be done on your keyboard. It's just slow and clunky. Unless you can program individual keys (on a separate keyboard) like the RPG keys, then it doesn't seem useful.
Yea, I gotta dig deeper into hotkeys tonight. I usually just mouse-over the setting I want to change and use the <- -> for everything. It's been plenty fast, but having it set to a single key on the G-13 would be nice.
I'm pretty quick as is, but I would be interested if only for 1 touch presets. Still a bit too much if that's the only function I'd like... But it looks awesome.
