I've been trying to get reservataions at Lake O'Hara and Mt. Assiniboine for the last couple of years and am on the wait list for Lake O'hara again next year. Hopefullly, will finally be able to get to these locations one of these days.
Gary: I think I am going to do some more work on this one to improve it based on the feedback. Thank you very much. Scott
bschmalz: Glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Mr Green: I understand what you are saying about the bright spot. I thought it added to the images but maybe I will darken it a bit. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Ed: Glad you like them. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Ansley: The pano was a suggestion for Bill who was going to join me on the trip but could not make it so he deserves the credit. Thank you for the feedback. Scott
Peyton: Send me an email or pm when you get close to coming and I will make suggestions. Thank you for the feedback. Scott
Colin: There is more to come. But I am going to Radium for more hikiing tomorrow so it could be slow. Thanks for the feedback. Scott
Dan: You know that I only print pictures to sell at the united way campaigns. Tell Donna I had to crop Dan's tripod foot and coffee mug out of that picture. Thank for the feedback and great company. Scott
Harland: You means those crazy people in the picture trying to get their heads cut off - yes the weather and the freinds and family made it even more special. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Adrian: Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Hayden: I used to use filters but mostly gave up because - HDR does the same effect as ndgrad without the problems of i) change in color between the top and bottom of a object where the ndgrad changes in a shape that is not flat, and ii) fussing with ndgrads in the winter usually results in frost, and iii) it just makes picture taking more complicated, and iv) it causes more flare which is already challenging on a wide angle. The use of a circular polarizer actually is beneficial in allowing views into water and deepening colors however it wrecks the sky on really wide angle shots because the CP only works 90degrees off from the sun and so the sky will fade from blue to not blue causing lots of work. Again the sky can be fixed in photoshop to be darker to match what you can see. So typically I don't use filters. So generally for a sunrise with a wide angle I won't use a filter. Further, when you are shooting animals, speed is critical and I have a hard time sacrificing speed. Not saying others will agree, thats just my conclusions. Thanks for the feedback. Scott
Khurram: I have resolved to walk the extra11km if I can't get in next year. its worth it. Mt Assiniboine does not require reservations if you stay at the campground. You would not believe the stars in this spot on a clear night. There are no lights and you are at 7,000'. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Claude: Glad you liked the pictures. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
It just boggles my mind to see work like this Scott. I love what I see as your take on what you saw PP work is fascinating!
I will just sit back and enjoy these, glad to know that there are people that get a chance to witness scenery like this and thanks for sharing them with me, wow!
thw2: ditto on rockies being breathtaking. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

NOT THE BEST! Where the heck is the big drool face to put on here! Absolutely FANTASTIC! I was there once in 77'. Too old to go back that high. Took me a week to heal in Banff being served steak in a upper story restaurant by a lovely young lady. Wish I could go back....Great work, sir..........Mike
Aaron: It is a very pretty, undeveloped spot. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Mike: That sounds like a very good story. Its easy to go back and stay at the lodge - helicopter takes you door to door in only 11 minutes. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
