Glad you got those pics on your trip. Italy seems to be iffy to go to at this point. I have had in my mind to do an Italy trip for several years, and looking at Jose's and recently Serge's pics that trip is definitely on the list, some day.

Samy, I was was lucky enough to end my trip some 10 days before the boom of coronavirus cases in North Italy!
Italy for me is something like 6-8 different countries, so last 5 years I visited only Italy in Europe, so easy to get trains to any locations. And the food, wow how I like Italian food!
Hope they managed to control this virus as soon as possible. Still I need some courage to get a boat or a tiny plane to Sicily and Sardinia, not to say Elba Island to see the house of Napoleon.

Jose whenever I do get a trip planned to Italy, will definitely check with you about locations for architectural and historic sites for photography. Seems they are everywhere though

I get to travel India, Italy, so much to see, thank you.

I can't travel anymore, too heavy with lenses.

A new 10.5 CM 2.5 P.C Sonnar made its way here, complete with case, shade, original NKJ cap, rarer in new condition than the lens.
These lenses are all brass and chrome.

Here is the lens and a couple of test shots, it is perfect!!!

fully open, one thing I don't like is that changing the aperture also pushes on the focus ring a little.

The most important item was the cap, exactly like the one on the left, these caps are flimsy and break easily, a new one is hard to find.

Samy your post brings up something that I was thinking. Often times while scrolling the photos I see them and know who the photographer is. I know yours, Jay, Reagan, Andy, Ronny, Buddy,Scott, Peter (USA & RSA), Raphael, Phong and definitely Jose.

I wonder what others think!

saph wrote:
Rafael you certainly seem to getting the hang of birding with the super teles!

Ken, that light in your pics is just a give away, I started to scroll up and knew right away those were yours. Sure looks like an interesting game from the Highlands! Have to get around Annapolis a bit more, especially when the weather's better.

Initially the subject matter gives it away for me but I can also say that there's a unique look to a few of the images by different regulars. I suspect most know bits my garden residents now and so can almost make out when I've posted a picture. I think I can make out Yours, Curtis, Lieutenant Z, Samy's and lately Jonathan's images with their look. They are sufficiently different for me to notice.

I thought I was getting the hang of George's PP look and then he got a huge new toy and stopped .

Still lurking in from time to time. Weather has been terrible on the weekends for shooting and I have been spending time building my developing kit. The remaining items are coming in the mail this week and I will be able to develop (or attempt to develop) and scan negatives for 35, 120 and 4x5 film. Interesting times ahead for me in this hobby.

I really love the interactive atmosphere in this MFNG. My confession to share more photos here than eslewhere recently.

Ken, it's pretty much the same for me. I do recognise some by subject matter, others by either their lens choice or post processing.

For the following people, I never need to look up who posted the photo(s)

Ken Hill. Both subject matter and post processing really identify your photos for me. When it comes to lens choice, not many here own the Noct, or the 35-200 for that matter, but in your photo's it's not the lens choice that makes me recognise them.

Luka. A gifted observer with a way to pick strong pictures from an area as crowded as New York. The 55mm f1,2 and 105mm f2,5 images really stand out for me, because I like both lenses and use them a lot myself

Peter Burke. Subject matter and post processing more then lens choice

Peter O. When he still used the D200 it made things even easier, but his choice of aperture mostly give it away for me

Ronny. Well, 16mm and near perfect PP

Raphael. A lot of lens porn there, but the classic cars, garden views, the Navy ships. Still though, the light seems to tell me when an image was photographed by Raphael or by someone else.

Kristian. That's not too hard. The European continent somehow does look different from the American

Jose. Subject matter, but also the lens choice most of the time identifies Jose's images for me

Jay. In Jay's images it is the light and colors that make me recognise photos as his. Possibly this is influenced by PP a bit as well

Andy. Framing is the give away here for me. Most of the time anyways

Curtis, Leighton. I guess I do take in a lot of information when looking at the images here. I wish I had more time to participate. At the time, I'm trying to split up my time off from work between doing nice things with Anouk and Kristina, and getting projects in and around the house finished. I had a few occasions to try out the D800, but I am nowhere near as familiar with it, as I was with my D3.

After a long pause I've tried the Ai 55/1.2 again.
Got a decent D700 a short while ago and absolutely love the „feel” and heft of this camera.

Excellent to see you back on the thread Georg. I’m considering getting a D700 again as well. It’s a special camera. One of only a small number of bodies I have really liked.
