Dug up some MF work from August. I really am not shooting those old lenses enough to have regular material for this thread. And I don't want to just give you fisheye race car stuff
Colin, I went and looked at that M/A - M switch on the 200-500 a few times to make sure For some reason the lens (or I) did better once I gave up on trying to take wide open shots and closed it to about f/7.1. Otherwise it was having a hard time even finding focus.
Peter, superb composition and scenes at the museum with the 55 and 180!
While walking around the Fells Point farmers market I saw a large ship docked across Thames street, at a spot where normally the water taxi comes in. Didn't realize such a large vessel could get in there. There were a lot of sailors milling around and given the markings on the ship (it was from Brazil) I figured they were speaking Portuguese. There was some sort of welcome ceremony going on, and these two gentlemen seemed to be the captain and first officer. The gentlemen looked pleased with the warmth of welcome from the city of Baltimore.

I followed that guy around early in the morning after the museum had just opened. I figured that this would make any image of the steam engines more interesting than just shooting the old iron by itself.
He ran that steam pressure washer for over an hour and I had ample opportunity to shoot various angles and lenses. That morning, I shot 350 frames in less than an hour, most of them in the engine depot.

So glad I was able to get up there during your run. Here is to your next chapter.
George
Thanks George. I was glad you made it too. I'll be managing at least one more year, so if you want, stop on by, then after the market, you can follow me to the farm for lunch.
This goes for anyone else that may be interested. This way, you can all take a turn with George's Leica and get hooked like I did.

Another trip up is definitely on my list to do.
Re: Leica... Here is a quick snap using the Nikkor 3.5cm f/2.5 LTM wide open. Lot of vignetting wide open when underexposing. Basically as shot with some highlight adjustments.
Must be sad to finally close up shop Leighton! I'm sure we'll continue to see your photos from the market in years to come though.... Here's one captured with my favourite MF zoom lens, the 35-200mm f3.5-4.5 ai-s....

That would be great if you could come up.
I just love the tones this camera brings out, although I'm sure some of that is from your excellent post work.

It sure does My couple trips to the market are pleasant memories, with the bonus of running into George this year, and Ken and his wife a couple years ago.
