I am heading to FL tomorrow morning going to the usual spot(Panama City) to visit family.
Curtis - I think some people will root for the schools their kids are going to. I would do that myself...unless my kids are going to a rival schools, then I'll disown them.
And how the heck does a lifetime Floridian cheer for Tennessee rather than the Gators or Seminoles? Inquiring minds want to know...
I grew up bleeding Orange and white
Doug Dickey waas UT's football coach from 1964 to about 1969 when he left Tennessee and went to coach the Florida Gators
I have been a "Gator Hater" since then
He later returned to Tennessee to become Athletic Director
I was a Miami Hurricane season ticket holder for many years never a Gator or Seminole fan
I still bleed Orange and White
That is the spot Samy - off "Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive". Here is one of my sons (David) on a quiet day - same spot, but with a Canon 5D MkII. The view is awesome there too. I could look at that water all day. Photo linked Here
I paid $22 from my pocket and used my office miles to buy a Mac Mini. So all I now have to do is to buy monitor, keyboard and mice.

Actually, I did fairly well with my most recent iMac purchase. All I did was buy a new three year old model with rather basic features... 27" yes, but not with what they call the Retina screen that takes resolution from 2560x1440 to 5120x2880. Without the retina display and without an internal SSD the package was reasonable. I already had a 500 GB LaCie SSD I hooked up using a Thunderbolt port. It is fast enough for me and I'm more than happy with the display.
Of course, I'm delighted the world has room for both PC users and Mac users, even as there is room for those shooting with Nikon and those shooting with Fuji...

Wonderful set of images Peter. Love the graphic on the back of the Corvette... "Drive it like you stole it!" That is exactly how I drove everything while in my twenties... and my driving record proved it. I was on risk insurance by the end of the decade...
That's one sweet paint job... much like the one I put on the 1956 Corvette I owned that sat in the garage for 90 days following my license suspension. It seemed the perfect time to remove all the trim and sand the fiberglass. The color, then called "candy apple red" was five coats of hand rubbed lacquer. It didn't make the car any faster, however. For that I dropped in a 327 cubic inch fuel injection short block topped by two four barrel carburetors. Fortunately there were no cops around when I raced a motorcycle from a stop sign. He was surprised he couldn't pull away from me... Those were the days. ...Show more →
Well, that paint job on the photo is a bit better than in real life. All three images above have been through some elaborate photoshop massaging. I think that candy apple part was all created in post. The car is just plain red and all three images were taken in the middle of the day. Thin clouds kept the highlights down and the shadows soft. Apparently that's good if you want to bend the image look later in post to create something totally different.
These three images have curve color adjustments, color lookup table and luminance adjustment layers, one even a complete luminance adjustment layer done in SEP2 to get some grain and structure to enhance tonality. Nothing you see is real. These are all color graded, and red cars apparently do really well when you apply the popular orange/teal hollywood color alterations.
I am pretty sure your Corvette 's paint looked better in real life, although I do love how the huge racing tires fill the fenders of that car. Few of the other racers in that class have that much rubber. It looks the business. That's all that matters at vintage race weekends.
This next set of images shows some merchandise in the Fort William store, all shot with the 55 f/1.2 SC (on the X-E2 and processed in the Lightroom app on my phone).
The Exif info showed Zeiss Distagon but I see that has now changed to Nikon 35mm
Colin
The lens is chipped and LR "recognise' it as a Zeiss. I have the same problem with the Nikkor-S.C 50/1.4
I correct it this with the LR-plugin "Lens Tagger".
D610 + Nikkor 8mm f/2.8F ai'd + tripod, ISO 500, f/11 at 1/20s.
Wow Jose, you're showing your age with some of those books. Cool shot.

Looking back through some older images - 22.5 years ago to be exact. (Fall 1994) All are shot with the Bronica S, 75mm Nikkor, and Fuji Velvia 50.
Neat image, looks like the ocean. Is that a huge sand dune?

I like the first one best. I just watched a youtube video on how to make tree bark baskets.

No images from Germany anymore.
My Df is broken, it doesn't recognise the memory cards anymore.
It looks like something is stuck inside.
Bummer Chris, do you think you can fix it yourself?
Jim, great pic of your son, much lower down that slope. I myself don't do that trek down with creaky knees That whole area is quiet a tourist hotspot. Leighton, that part of the Lake Michigan shore has some quite steep sand dunes. One of the pics Jim had refer to the Sleeping Bear sand dunes.
Jim, did you make it to Mackinac Island in any of your stays in Northern Michigan?
This is one of my favorite pictures, going right under the Mackinac Bridge to the island. With 28 3.5 PC. MackinacBridge by Maryland Photos, on Flickr
The bridge itself connects to the upper peninsula. I believe the town on the other side of the bridge is Saule St. Marie, although I never did make it across. And this is a spot where you see two Great Lakes. Lake Michigan to the left (west), Lake Huron to the right.

You are correct Reagan! The D750 is my Nikon of choice in Australia, but I intended to buy another full frame Nikon to use in Canada so I didn't have to haul bodies back and forth. I picked up a lightly used D800 locally with only 14000 actuations for $1300 CDN, so I have CX, DX and FX covered while I'm home. Now I just need a few MF lenses to round out my collection.... I may even have to duplicate the 35-200mm Zoom Nikkor as I find it to be an excellent walk around lens. I hope you are well my friend!
