Colin's 50mm f2 images have inspired me to grab mine (the HC version) and headed out yesterday. It has been very fall like early here with on and off rain. However, during one break late yesterday evening, I headed up the creek that is near me (a couple of miles), here in the Mission Mtns of western Montana. Awhile back I posted a waterfall from here and this photo is from the rocks on top of that. Some of the water passes between these two chucks of rock, while another portion wraps around the far one. This is a 3 image focus stack:
I have lived here nearly 20 years and never really explored the section immediately above these falls. Turns out there are some very interesting cascades just around the corner from this spot. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how spent my battery was and I didn't bring a spare! Oh well, next time.
I am not sure what to make of this photo - there are a lot of leading lines. Too busy? not enough subject matter? I really liked the evening light on all the moss up there!.
Bought my son a car. Wish the 1-series was mine but my nearly 19 year old BMW 5-series continues to serve me well.
A forced change of job outside of London neccessitated the purchase so that he could get to work.
That Z camera will need to wait a lot longer. I hope the D610 will continue to serve me well....
Very limited time in this scenic city. The Transamerica building, and the Flood building I posted a few days ago was the extent of the architecture tour of San Francisco. The two structures are pretty close by.

Ken now I am curious about the color version of your Lake Superior pano. Nice scenery.
Colin, cool car for your son!
Doug interesting scenery and hope you come back with the waterfall images next time.
He is a lucky lad for sure. Outgoing model and ex-demonstrator provided keen pricing. Not in Vette league but 190 bhp in a small, agile, rear wheel drive BMW makes for a lot of fun. Enough power, balanced against fuel economy and insurance premiums. It might be my runaround in a few years time if my son gravitates to the capital again and decides he doesn’t warrant a car anymore.
Samy my apologies for deleting the color rendition of the Lake Superior beach. The fact is that using the lap-top without a mouse made me do it. I lost several other shots too!
Here are a few from Presque Isle and in particular the lighthouse. Thirty years ago I and my daughters hiked over the breakwater to the house which was no small feat. The boulders at the end are the size of one car garages or large backyard sheds It took hours,
The plaque pictured attests to its hazard in rough weather. It's one of those trips you do once and never again.

Ray - The link appears to be broken.
Colin, hopefully it's OK now. I have a gut feel that Zenfolio has been somewhat unreliable lately.
Been enjoying the HK pics, don't quite know if I would have continued the trip to HK given the on-going unrest, glad to see you made it through just fine.
