Mark, good to see you back here. After a long time I think.
Thanks, I drive by often dishing out likes and admiring everyone's work. The shelf is still loaded with lenses, the lieca is gone but some lieca lenses linger and a Z7 has taken it's place. As you know I explore other hobbies from time to time and photography while being my main squeeze has suffered. It's been all about Coffee, homebrewing beer and wine as of late. I have made a home brewery and it's taken many hours and a lot of passion and sweat equity to get done.
Hawaii trip coming up but I think I will take my F AF lenses and maybe pick just two MF lenses. Perhaps the trip will get me in the groove again. My new job and hours regrettably are not as conducive to me getting lense time. Sooner or later I will find myself shooting oodles of images and sharing! Between the DF and Z7 there should be a lot of MF fun to come, it's only a matter of when.
Cheers everyone, keep them coming! Oh, and keep getting those marvelous glass wonders to keep us all in lens lust. Just say the devil made me do it! Wink
There've been some very enjoyable photos showing up here lately! It's also very nice to see David H. (my fellow Canadian) and Mark (AM4L) dropping by to say hello.
Here is another small set from the Southern Gulf Islands, showing some interesting shoreline and a group of seals catching some rays, courtesy of the 50-135 f/3.5 Ai-s (first two) and the 200 f/4 Q (last one) on the Fuji X-T2.
We spent a couple of days at the southern tip of Africa last week, Cape Agulhas, and had lunch nearby at a restaurant set up by a local lady, Wanda, who did so out of necessity when her employer died suddenly a few years ago. We were the only people at lunch but as she lives next door she was open for us and told us her story. Very special .. Nikon D200 + 50mm f2 at f2
, i might have a problem. Added an S2 to the collection. Will be shooting a concert with it in a few weeks. Would love to get an original lens cap; struggling with the idea of paying what they cost though.
Got around to some MF shots from the IMSA race in early August
These are 16mm f/3.5 AI on the crop sensor of the D500, something I rarely do, but I was in a bind without a 20mm on me and full fish on the D810 was far too wide for what I wanted. On the second one I really missed the built in flash of the D810 to light up all the dark space with a little fill
Scott, great photos of Discovery! The Enterprise is at the Intrepid Museum but the lighting could be better.
Colin, that's a nice collection of classic autos. Shooting through glass is something I can relate to.
W.O. Decker built in 1930 is the last remaining wooden tug boat in the Big Apple. It has been docked next to the restoration facilities for many moons and is back in the wild. Looks darn good for an old timer.
Fuji S5 + 50/2 Ai:
I was looking for a decent interior photo but this is a close as the fencing would allow.
I am continuing to process images from road trips David and I took in 2018. I've been reluctant to post since these are not recent shots. I'm not doing anything even remotely worth posting these days. These are from Valley of Fire state park near Las Vegas, NV. All with 25-50/4 on Df.
