I think it is just related to auto indexing ? Keeping the lens wide open (until the shutter is pressed) and then automatically stopping down to the selected aperture but still getting the exposure correct. Maybe !
I think this was in the middle of a fountain. It wasn't working, none of the water features work anywhere we went, and a lot of the parks and public gardens maintenance programs are clearly underfunded unfortunately.

I just returned from a week in Chicago. I had to go on business, but managed to find the time to walk around and take a few photos. I also got to go to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Strike that off the bucket list.
But I wanted a 5cm 2.0 Leica thread to make a set, and finally found one on e-bay that looked new at a reasonable price, found this in Texas. These lenses tend to be scratched as the coatings are soft and most have had repair of dubious quality.
Great news upon arrival, it is perfectly clean, no dust inside, no sign of it ever have been opened for repairs, very slight cleaning marks, but can only see them with strong flashlight. Smooth focus and perfect aperture blades. Not sure what the infinity lock is for.
Lens is not in the same league as the 10.5cm, sides are very soft at 2.0 but the center is sharp. Very usable, best closed to 2.8 and further. I like it for casual photography, will compare to the 5cm 2.0 S reflex.
Interesting how the Belgians and French have responded to Brexit - all gratitude for the losses taken by the Brits and Empire in WW1 and 2!
Similar to UK's attitude to SA - our fathers and uncles were good enough to fight for them and to die "up North" but now we have to jump through hoops to get a (very expensive) visa to visit. Not nice at all

Hey everyone, nice shooting! It's been really busy around here lately and I haven't had time to stop in. Here are a few from this morning with the 55mm f1.2 on the X-T2.
