In the first one my eyes go to the centre but because I don't really see anything of interest I gravitate to the tree on the left and then to the right hand tree.
In the second frame my eyes immediately are drawn to the ladies exiting lower right.
So I would say the first one makes me look harder.

Interesting observation, thanks Colin! Here's the one I think like best of the series, and I think you might have helped explain why.

If you have the 180 f/2.8 definitely throw an extension tube and play a bit. I know you've been posting regularly on the thread Ray so you aren't in need to inspiration, but I clearly need it from time to time, as my absence from the thread has proven. Using extension tubes gives me a whole new perspective on things and I'm easily mesmerized by what I encounter. I need to try a 36mm tube on the 300 f/4.5 AI-s ED IF. I'm reminded at this moment that I actually started a thread that is still pinned in the Marco World forum Shooting With Tubes that is still active, though like this thread the early pages have been mothballed. I did a fair amount of shooting with the 300... in fact the first photo on that thread was taken with that lens.
You might want to check out that thread and go play a bit with extension tubes. ...Show more →
Inspired by Curtis' 180mm and tubes shot, here's some quick shots, 180mm AIS + PK-13.

Took a couple days to get geek central back up and running at the hospital, but I made it through the surgery ok. The surgery was a sigmoidectomy, removing the sigmoid section of the colon which was the cause of the diverticulitis I had last summer. They got me out of bed twice on Monday, short walk to chair, then longer walk down hall. May be starting a clear liquid diet today, we'll see.
Thanks for all the well wishes!
Just reading the thread, best wishes to you Laura.

I respectfully differ from some opinions, there are magical lenses, and the 10.5 cm 2.5 rangefinder is definitely one of them. To be used only at 2.5.
There are also Magical cars, flying carpets that take you to another world when you ride them!!!
Amongst the pretty but ordinary, treasures hide, what is back there?

I was scrolling through on my iPhone and quite literally drooled a bit when I saw these. On of my very favorite of the muscle cars.
One of mine too Kevin, Grand Street is beginning to bloom now that the weather is near perfect, it will die a little at the peak of summer, with the heat.
Most of the cars are the usual suspects you see every week, but with some frequency you see some unique cars.
I am suffering a creative spell, please suffer with me. With dedication to Curtis who inspired these. This Rose bush is the only surviving one in an all male house, it has endured many years of neglect but this year it came back and bloomed abundantly. 105mm 4.0 macro, one of the best for OOF.
