Sorry to hear about the lens troubles Kristian. It’s frustrating to say the least, but keep shooting. I’ve found that shooting is a good cure for lens blues.

Thanks, I still got a few left to play with. It can also be a good thing to really practice using only a few
Colin When I entered the parking area shaded by oak trees I couldn't see the lighthouse at all, so as I took the shot through the trees I remember thinking this might be the only view I'd get!
If it’s any interest to anyone. Searching the internet I came accross a company named Legacy2Digital located in Eugene, Oregon. They chip Nikon MF Glass. They also seem to do it all sell glass, CLA Lenses etc. Has anyone used or heard of them?
Here is a list of what i have and what their price quote is to do the work. It seems you still have no EXIF as to thr F-Stop on the Z6 after their conversion so I’m not interested.
This is their quote.

Ken - I have read about their services but have never used them. But regarding chipped lenses and EXIF...
I have several chipped Nikkor manual focus lenses (the factory chipped 45mm P lens and several that I put dandelion chips on myself). All of them will transfer the aperture setting to the EXIF data.
One thing to note with the Z cameras... When using manual focus chipped lenses you have to set the the aperture ring to the minimum aperture and control aperture setting via the rear command dial (else you get the fEE error on the top LCD and message on the viewfinder). You cannot transfer aperture control to the aperture ring on the lens like you can on the Df and other DSLR bodies. But is does record actual aperture shot in the EXIF.
So I would expect the same function from lenses modified by Legacy2Digital. But would confirm with them first.
I haven't found a Nikon camera that I really liked since the D700
but this Z6 is really growing on me
I love my Fuji XT-2 but it is only going to be used on vacation
if the Z breaks
It might even have a name by the time I get back

Just tested my Zeiss 50 I can get the aperture to record on exif
but still have to use focus peaking

Interesting. I just confirmed on mine again that focus point goes green when in focus (with focus peaking on or off). Both on the 45P lens and my dandelion chips.
I will get my MF lens chipped when I get back
Only taking 2 Nikon MF with me 24 and 28 I would take one of those but can't decide which
The 85/1.8G and the kit zoom of the Z and the Planar 50/1.4

My wife is going to have. a heavier bag to carry around this time

Focus peaking is ok but for me I want the green focus point
Will send a couple in when I get back

Not me either! Waiting for the 3rd Gen of the Z series, should be extra great by then!
When the 3rd gen is out, the current gen will be at a great price! I'm waiting for a native one lens travel zoom for the Z, like 24-120 f4 S with the 24-70 f4 S performance. Until then I keep telling myself the Z can wait :-). I have to confess though that the 14-30S is especially appealing for travel; good thing I almost never use filters on the ultrawides these days.
Can't imagine getting all the MF lenses chipped (even though my collection is very small by standards around here) to get the correct EXIF info, which is a bummer. Perhaps that will force me to think about which ones I like enough to spend $$ on chipping.

Taughannock Falls. People in lower right corner give it scale. Taken with the 105 f2.5 Ais. Thanks for looking.

Scott,
Great shot. I have shot Taughannock Falls some winters ago. I used Zeiss 100, but very similar look with ice and snow. . Although, I must say, your composition is way better than mine.
