I was wondering something about older, Nikkor AI-converted non-AI lenses. If one had two identical non-AI lenses and one had been converted to AI, but the other lens was actually in better shape, can the conversion be moved from one lens to the other or is it permanent?

I love that lighthouse shot. Great job! It almost seems surreal.
Why are the windows of two of the houses that color blue?
Thanks very much!
It was surreal when I visited before dawn, in near silence, the darkness interruped every 10 seconds by the four blinding beams of light! Shooting there was a very neat experience, so I'm pleased it turned out.
I presume there was a blue light bulb in the building, a nice touch at night.

In general yes, but there are some that have variations in the same model, especially in the earliest F mount lenses. I have noticed that on two of my 5cm f/2 non-Ai aperture rings.
Local game that I can't remember the name of. Push/flick the white disc and knock your colour discs into the corner pockets. All played with a very fine sand on the board to help the discs slide.

These folks were headed to the Prince Charles 70th birthday 41 gun salute. Horse drawn canons were used with the usual British pageantry and precision.
Running from my monster photo rig.
Taking photos on the Golden Jubilee bridges seems to be popular. Stumbled across a couple of model shoots there during my visit.
