More pics (about time I hear you say !)

2nd stop in India as previously mentioned was Mahabalipuram, home of rock carved temples from 7th C. during the Pallava Dynasty

One of the temples cut into the rock. Most impressive thing about these is that the rock is GRANITE !!!

Interesting carved figures inside temples. You can clearly see where visitors have touched the figures, their skin oils darkening the spots, presumably for luck or I'm not sure.

Hi Reagan
I was/am looking for telephoto lenses for my new mirrorless and 80-200 f4/f4.5 is something I researched. Is the 200/4 AI-S better (and smaller) lens that 80-200?
Edit: if you have experience with both of them.

The 200/4 is much smaller and sharper I believe
and also comes with a Built in hood that slides forward and backward

I have both and the 200 F4 and the 80-200 AiS F4. Re the 80-200, you will only want the square cut out on the rear element. This is the last version. The 200mm is sweet and 3/4 the size and weight of the 80-200. Both use 52mm filters.

Thanks, both.
I was also suggested to look at series e 75-150 since size and weight are also a concern for me - I recently put Nikon 105mm VR Micro on Sony A6000 and that combination is a terrible, terrible idea.
Also, regarding 80-200, is 4.5 version with rectangular baffle at the end considered sharper than f4?

Oh the 200 AIS is a very under-appreciated lens captain.

On the Df (Nikon on Nikon!!)
RJL_3629 by Maryland Photos, on Flickr

Come to think of it, all the 200 primes I have are superb.

The original 20cm f4 P is no slouch (on Df again).
RJL_2493 by Maryland Photos, on Flickr

Heck even Nikon's 200 f4 Q version for the Bronica is excellent.
000211380004 by Maryland Photos, on Flickr

The 2 older lenses are a bit on the bulky/heavy side; while the AIS is small, lightweight.

Thank you! Great images by the way.

Also that last caption took me a while to understand. No offense to anyone. I actually related it to the people in the photo.

I will retire for the day.
