Spring is coming! It was the mildest winter I can remember in 12 years of living in central Japan. D810 with Nikkor-O 35mm f/2. This is my 3rd copy of the lens and looks absolutely disgusting inside, with dust, gunk, and even scratches on a couple of the elements. I don't even want to think about HOW the person who owned it before me got it in this state. The good news is that the lens doesn't seem to care!
I stepped off onto the lonely platform and was greeted by this sight:
Clouds from The Simpsons' opening
Fields of cabbage right behind someone's backyard

As Reagan said David, you were missed. And now you're in New Zealand, or should I say back in New Zealand... a place we've not seen on this thread. You have your work cut out for you... educating all of us about the wonders of that beautiful country... nice down payment by the way.
Thanks Curtis! I've been in Oz from mid April to October for the past eight years (avoiding Canadian winters) but my work visa ended at the end of January, so my wife and I will be returning to New Zealand from now on as we enjoy permanent residence here. My youngest daughter works for the city of Wellington (NZ's capital), so for this year we've settled in a small community on the Kapiti Coast of NZ's North Island (to be near her). It's quite different from Australia in many ways, one of them being a more laid back, quiet way of life. We live about 200 yards from a lovely beach... here's a pano of our little village captured with the 55mm f1.2 SC Auto....
Her and her girlfriend are going to Italy in October for 12 days
7 of which will be a cruise from Rome to France and Spain and then back to Rome for a couple of days
I told her she better find a way to make some money while she is over there
Hey guys, those of you using Nikon glass on Sony mirrorless - what adapter do you suggest to mount Nikon lenses on them?
Not willing to drop more $$$ than what my A6000 or most Nikon glass cost me. Are those $20-30 adapters good starting point? not planning to mount any AF-S/P lenses (But I might mount AF-D ones). I followed Brian Smith's guide to adapters and the choices are *staggering*.
From what I read - looks like for G type lenses you need a specific adapter but all other (Non-Ai/Ai/Ais/K/p/D) lenses can be mounted on one type of adapter. I could be wrong because on eBay I found one adapter that said "Our adapter is different than others - you can mount any and all Nikon lenses on it". Oh well.

Captain, I use a Kipon adapter. I paid around USD50 for it. It works perfectly with all my ais lenses (and with the lenses with aperture ring like the AFD). For the G glasses you indeed need a specific adapter (Novoflex for example).

I came across Kipon. Good to know! If AF-D lenses can be mounted along with manual lenses I think that suffices. I will just stay away from using G lenses on that mount.
I found K&F concept adapter is having good reviews too, albeit cheaper than Kipon. I will probably order both and return one of them.
Welcome back, David; you've been missed! I don't know if you were around when I moved from Ontario to BC, but in case you weren't: I'm living on Vancouver Island now and loving it. All that Arctic Vortex stuff going on in the rest of the continent is not affecting us at all. In fact, the temperature hasn't reached 0 degrees Celsius all winter, hovering between +6 and +10 most days, and cherry blossoms were blooming in Victoria last week!
Here are a few monochrome photos from nearby Englishman River Falls. The first two are courtesy of the 180 f/2.8 Ai-s, and the third is from the 28 f/2 Ai-s.

My vote is the same as Lieutenant Z's - the Kipon. That is what I use on my a6500 and a7rii and it worked beautifully with the 55mm 3.5 macro you just purchased from me. Nothing agains K&F as it has been used by others on this site. I just believe Kipon's quality control is a little better and it has proven in my case to be spot on at infinity.
