Colin, so glad you're back in circulation! I had a big lunch with friends today and had a couple of glasses of wine.......it would have been rude not to.
I'll extend my abstinence for an extra day!!
Thanks Peter.
I must confess I succumbed to a couple of Japanese beers yesterday.
It was my daughter's birthday and we were in a nice Sushi restaurant in London so........
And look what happened.
Z7 + FTZ + Nikkor-PC 105mm f/2.5F aiŽd, hand held; ISO 200, f/8 at 1/640s; 16 vertical shots pano. This is a downsized to 75x34cm/300dpi version of an original 218x99cm/300 dpi image.

Jose, a P or PC 105 2.5 is one of my few remaining wishes. Was never able to find a mint ai converted one, with the Z6 I may buy the non-ai version.
When I took the moon shots, I was triggering the Z6 shiutter by hand, the electronic front curtain and exposure delay made many shots possible at 1 second exposure on the Z6 with the 800mm, but many were slightly blurred.
Looking at remotes for this camera, ended up trying SNAPBRIDGE APP on my Pixel 3 XL, it appears it does not control the camera in any meaningful way but it shows you the image and trips the shutter remotely, that is a lot for a free app.
So I ran a test with the 800mm TC 300 and TC 14 for 2240mm, F13 or so. This is good for static subjects only, there are no peaking highlights or magnification in the app image, but it does show you when the shaking stops.
I was able to run a test where images were sharp regardless of the length of exposure when triggered this way. Not the best but it works and is free.,
Here is the rig and a test shot with a 100% crop, Nothing to shoot around the house at this focal length, just pine needles.
Lens image is with the Pisel 3 XL by necessity. Given the light Z6 this outfit is perfectly balanced.

Nice test Rafael; Need to put my 800 in the Z7, no time lately.
I have noted that the front curtain is an absolute necessity for long teles, even hand held (my experience with the 500/8 mirror and 400/5.6 ED).
Wow, unbelievable: Rafael has an Achilles heel It is the PC 105/2.5 Gauss design!
Mine is the 15/5.6 QDC version
Jay knows I live about 15 minutes from the museum.
I've tested every lens I own there, every camera, too. Tripods and flash are allowed. They are changing over their lighting there to LED lighting, though. It was a good place to test low light performance of lenses and cameras. I may wander over there my next day off, which is "Supposed" to be Wednesday.

Thanks for asking right question and then clearing it, both.

16 * Z7 Raw files?
What kind of hardware are you running to do this?
Just curious as to whether a move to Z7 necessitates a new computer platform too.
Colin
Colin, I am not an expert on PCs, but mine is a Dell XPS Core i7, so I suppose it is enough, although for the stitching of 16 images PS CS6 needed ~4-5 min !
It's nice to see our thread growing at a steady pace--with new folks joining, Ronny dropping in with his jaw-dropping landscapes, and continuing high quality, wide-ranging imagery from all the regulars--and doubly nice to be back in the posting stream now that my educational distractions are behind me!
And on the subject of streams, here are a few photos of the stream that connects Cameron Lake with Cathedral Grove, including one from the 50 f/1.2 Ai-s and two from the 28 f/2 Ai-s.
Nice pace pickup. Good shots, the smorgasbord of storytelling continues, thanks to the picture contributors.
Glen, sorry to hear about your brother.
Ken, best wishes to your close ones in FL!
Nice one, Laura. MF in the AF museum. Does the LED lighting have less hot-spotting or more?
Jay, valley fog is awesome!
Scott, putting the 24mm PCE to good use. It's a good thing I'm too lazy and spoiled with LR corrections otherwise I'd be tempted.
Speaking of PCE looks like Jay actually has more than one.
Samy, the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church with is another tempting example of PCE use. Do you put your head under a dark cloth just to keep in practice for when you use the LF cameras?
Colin, the nighttime / tube / twilight shots are just superbly captured, good amount of motion, color, and just enough intrigue.

That is true to a large extend Jose, however I do have the REAL 10.5CM 2.5 Gauss......, just missing the Z6 LTM adapter,
Respectully

Hi, saph:
The Newseum building should go for a pretty penny. I believe it is 250,000 sq feet in a pristine location. I am with you and hope they find a suitable space for all the great exhibits. Perhaps they can work something out with the Smithsonian which would be terrific.
I have a chunk of that wall, given to me by my brother after he went by car from England to Berlin to watch Roger Waters "The Wall Live" just after the fall of East Germany
