Looking at what I just posted, the images look mushy compared to the originals on my computer. Is this site doing something that degrades the images? This certainly doesn't highlight the incredible performance of these lenses.

Ken - I see the same thing with images I post. Must be the compression on the site.
Good to see that the thread is alive and well although moving slowly. Away for 25 days and only 13 pages - such a difference to 5 or so years ago.
We had a lot of fun in France , Italy and our one loooong day in Istanbul between flights. i took a lot of pictures some on Af but quite a few MF. Most were snaps as there are always others to consider who have little interest in "real" photography so lots of disappointment due to laziness in adjusting !SO or aperture. Still if I get 20 - 30 decent images out of 750 odd shots I'll be happy.
These are from Grado, Italy an ancient town which was important about 1800 years ago! We were there on a gloomy afternoon but the lagoon was dead still.

Steve I pressed the like on your photo's but not for the building. I agree the interior of that building leaves a lot to the imagination. Did they run out of money?

Welcome back Peter! Was Istanbul just an airport layover, or did you manage to get into the city a bit?
.
Thanks Samy
We had an overnighter in a hotel but flew out at 01H55 the next day so had the day in the city. As we expected the "sights" were overrun with tourists - at least 1000 in line for Hagia Sophia so we walked and talked and visited in town. Two from the day - a Doner kebab cook and a delightful lady making filled flatbreads. Both happy to have their pictures taken but we didn't want to impose
