Been loving these Laura. Along with photography, I have been into radio control modeling. I have had them all at one point or another. Planes (even one bigger than these in your photos, had a 1/3 scale Piper J-3 Cub. It had a 9’ wingspan), helicopters, cars, boats, a submarine, and drones. About 11 years ago, one of my planes was a slow flier, but could haul almost 4 pounds of cargo. I did a bunch of aerial photography (unfortunately lost those images in my house fire) and candy drops at family oriented events. I’m actually in the process of 3D printing a large drone now with the hopes of taking my Fuji into the air.

Love what you are sharing with this lens Eike. I've had a few 50mm lenses but never the H 50mm f/2. Gotta give it a go some time soon.

It is a fantastic little lens, Kristian. Usually very affordable too.
The ones in that post carry the pilot, not the RC ones. I believe the tarp on the black one was for catching oil.

The only (little) model plane I tried wouldn't fly. Its still sitting somewhere, catching dust. Maybe if I had gotten it to work I would have been on model plane forums rather than here

Only one I ever tried was as a kid and was the type attached to to the strings and went in circles. There may or may not have been an incident involving a cat. So my venture into model planes was short lived

G
p.s. there was no physical damage to any animals
Been there too. Gliders, radio control, pole racing. Still have the scar on my thumb from the time I thought it would be good to apply pressure to the top of a modelling knife blade after I had heated it up under a candle to work on some plastic.....
Candles, dope (lacquer), balsa wood, tissue paper, engine fuel all make a recipe for disaster. I was relegated to a small outdoor workshop. No cats were affected though. Fun times.
Thanks Chin and others for the birthday wish. Back from the farmer's market with many melons and a few photos I'll process later. At the moment we are heading our for lunch and an afternoon in west Marin... there will be more photos, no doubt. See you all later... though perhaps that will be tomorrow night since I'm at Sue's and all my photo software is at home with the iMac...
Back in 'Old Blighty' the days have a definite autumnal feel to them.
Scraped off a thin layer of ice from the car windscreen yesterday morning - due to the clear skies.
During the day it is beautiful. Too good to be stuck indoors at work. All I could muster was a half hour walk at lunchtime. I hope the weather holds until Saturday because the leaves are turning......
Took the D7100 IR for a spin with the 16/3.5 along the Kennet & Avon canal.
