Long term reader of this terrific MF lens thread which provided a darn strong push to pick up a few of these mechanical beauties. It took quite a bit of time of research and sourcing minty examples but it was well worth the effort.
A small contribution:
Took this one a while back with the D40 &105/2.5 Ai, at f/4. Surprisingly, I could MF with the D40 much better than expected.
Fuji X-E1, Nikkor N C Auto 28/2.0: Marina in lower Manhattan in the shadows of One World Trade Center.Great place to spot some very nice boats.
I read quite a bit about the great optic in the original manual focus 7K post thread The 105/2.5 became the second lens on the hunting list. Perhaps a bit long on APS-C but the results can be a stunner as many photos here illustrate.
Congrats on your emergence from lurkdom and welcome to the thread, Serge. Your pink roses show that your D40 focusing skill is fully satisfactory!
It's very nice to see the thread picking up its pace! While others seem to have been in the photographic doldrums recently, I've been working on my final course, which, ironically, is a practicum in the very field I've worked in for the past 17 years. This keeps me at home with assignments on many of the days that I might otherwise be out shooting photos. However, I managed to get out with my X-T2 and some MF Nikkors yesterday for a brief stint.
Here are a few bits of bokeh play with the 5.8 f/1.4 S, wide open.

First off, welcome Serge and looking forward to watch the addiction grow in you as it has in us!
Raphael good car stuff and a reminder that I still have "dibbs" on the MCRD 50mm 1.2.
Andy, good to see your shots again. BTW my buddy has a son with the 2nd Marines deployed in Townsville who has taken leave and liberty seeing all of Oz that he can. Reports back its a beautiful country.
Jay interesting shots from Ky.
Peter always good to see a "Mini."
Here are two from near Great Falls, Montana. Was a bit disappointed that there is no "Great Falls" any longer as the Corps of Engineers built a series of dams to control the flooding. The first in Great Falls covers the original falls and the second "Ryan Dam" is huge and some 20 miles from the city in the middle of nowhere. Both shots are panos of 5-6 shots each!
Sorry to hear a about your work situation. Hope you find something you like soon.

Enough time, but no inspiration.
My employer went bankrupt a few weeks ago, so I'm more busy processing this and looking for something new. So after 44 years of working (not the same employer) I have to find something new, I still have to work 5 years before retirement. :-(
Thanks Ken, good to see that you have been continuing to clock up the miles too.
Yeah Tville is about 4 hours south of Cairns and is the main base for the forces up north along with Darwin in the NT. Drier and less green than Cairns (Cairns locals call it Brownsville ! ) but Magnetic Island just off the coast at Townsville is another beautiful spot on the GBR.

Sounds like the kind of place the Marine Corps loves to train. Dry and brown. Oh and if its hot, very, very hot its perfect!
The level of photography on this thread always amazes me!
This is my first attempt at a pano. I combined way more photos than necessary, but since it was a long drive to get to this bridge, I wanted to make sure I got complete coverage. The level of detail in the shot is unreal.
Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/3.5 Ai non-compensating. Sony a6500, ASA auto (320) f/5.6, ss 1/60, AWB, out of camera jpeg untouched except for slight crop.
