There are a few out of category mountains that the riders cross.
With a Sprint at SAINT-JEAN-DE-MAURIENNE
before climbing to the Col de la Croix de Fer which is one of those hors category climbs once over that they have a drop and another climb before descending to the Romaneche valley and then on to the final climb of the day .
The infamous Alps d'Huez ..... trust me that is one nasty climb, (13.8Kms @ 8.5% average angle) and even more so after a day of climbing two other major mountain cols.
This pic is a view from the top of the Croix de Fer, (D810 + 50-135mm f3.5) you can just about see the road they will be climbing.
I can't wait to see the live coverage of this days riding !!
(Hope I don't break your screens with this 28 shot pano)
After a couple of tries (and years) Paul Gabel and I finally met. You must now we live about 10km (straight line) from each other.
We met in the Vondelpark and took a stroll thru Amsterdam; Tourist in our own town.
Paul had his Noct with him and lend it to me.
First one is trying out with the Noct
Last one is a tourist (Paul) blocking the shot
Yes, we now both have more time on our hands, and it was really nice to meet Chris in person. Let me show a different perspective on some of his shots. I used the 25-50mm f4, 35mm 1.4 and HC 85mm 1.8.
Chris focusing on the pepper grinder
The shot that I took obstructing Chris's view
Chris taking a shot for Reagan
Probably looked somewhat like this:
Helping out another tourist
At an antique market, where I found a really nice-looking Voigtlander Perkeo folding 6x6 camera.
Hey all... I will throw in a contribution to the thread. Has been busy here and frankly too hot to go out and shoot. I am planning my annual trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina later next month so my mind has been on fishing and kayaking. Tying some flies for fishing and making sure all the gear is in order.
To scratch my photography itch, I have been using my new "toy/tool" for processing. I picked up the latest release of the Loupedeck + keyboard interface for Lightroom and a couple other processing packages. I love the fact that I have actual knobs and dials for the Lightroom functions like Contrast, Clarity, etc. Plus I haven't even gotten into the custom configuration options. Not a sales pitch, but figured this group may like this function given our love of the tactile feel of manual focus lenses and old cameras.
I have been going back and using it to tweak a few of my older favorite shots.
Quick shot of the Loupedeck + below (D850 w/18mm f4 Ai). Along with one of my favorite shots from a past Outer Banks trip (Df w/20mm f3.5 Ai).

Did I detect an increase in thread pace?
Great to see Paul and Chris together.
I was at a gig in Camden, London the other evening.
Used the 55/1.2 SC but also the 85/1.8G so will post some stuff over on the AF forum too.
Here is a sample from the D610 & 55/1.2 SC. ISO bumped up. This artist is called 'Haiz' but I was mainly there to transport some gear and watch my daughter 'Sazzie' perform. It was a great evening.
