Thesen Island in Knysna is a redevelopment of an old timber processing plant. The commercial portion is comprised of recycled industrial buildings and there is also an adjacent residential estate. The old power plant has been turned into an interesting hotel and part of the deal was to incorporate as much of the generating equipment as possible into a "museum" .

Here are a couple of test shots using my new Zhongyi Lens Turbo II. I had my doubts as to whether or not it would live up to expectations, but it's a pretty impressive adapter. For some reason, these are much sharper on my computer.
A magnificent winter's day 23*C at Buffalo Bay - believe it or not , this is the "Wild Side" and it's where whales have been washed ashore and a year or two ago a floating crane ended up on a reef about 200M off the beach.
Warm days are generally preceded by a berg wind which is the South African name for a katabatic wind: a hot dry wind blowing down the Great Escarpment from the high central plateau to the coast. They are almost always followed by pretty windy, cold (for us about 2*C) and wet weather.
