I am so glad I took the 200/4 to FL. I used it a lot for sunsets and shore birds.
After the storm passed through we were blessed with superb weather for the rest of the week.
Cloudless evening. Shot from the hotel room balcony. How easy does it get?
I used a Lee Filters two stop, hard edge graduated ND filter to hold back the sky. I think that reflection around the sun is due to the filter/aperture/lens combo. The filters are new to me so was learning about what worked, or not.
Love the first one. Never tried an extension tube on the 24 NC.
You have shown me its capabilities so will need to give that combination a try.
In the meantime I have a lot of sunsets to process.
Colin
Thanks Colin. Lookin forward to see you use that combo and the Florida sunsets
George, I have to say, your Nikon RF lenses do look a lot better on their native S2. Or the LTM ones go so well right on the Barnack Leicas that they were meant for.

As you may know from a previous discussion about me getting a new telelens I ordered a Nikon 80-200mm f/4.0 ais lens. The swedish government has lost a lot of tax and custom fees during the last years so they have decided to be harder on collecting these fees. Now they have implemented a new system to make sure they get the money. My lens have arrived to Sweden (from Japan) but I have to pay the fees before I get it. So, it all got a bit more expensive than I thought...Hopefully I´ll have the lens in my hands next week.
While waiting, here´s a few more shots from the spring forest. All shot with the Nikkor-N.C 24mm f/2.8.
On this one I added one of the Vivitar extension rings. Love shooting close-ups with this 24mm.
Have a nice day all!

Can't you find a used 80-800/4 AI-S in Sweden? There are heaps of this zoom here in Australia, usually sold for around AUD 100.
Very nice rendering for a 24/2.8 MF lens!!
I should try an extension tube one day on my 20/3.5 UD lens...

I believe this is a Sandpiper of some description or a Sanderling in breeding plumage?
I am having trouble identifying it. Can anyone chip in here?
D610 & 200/4
Wish I had that 200-500 VR for birding.
How did you manage to shoot these guys with a 200mm on a FF body? Do they come and eat in your hand?!
For me, I need at least 1000mm.
Perhaps some of you have noticed a pattern that I have found my way into; I have just now realized what it is. At all times, I make daily or near-daily visits to this thread to read the posts, view the photos, and click the Like button. However, when I manage to get out with my camera, I become inspired to participate more actively in the thread by posting the resulting images. In truth, it is the opportunity to post images on this thread that boosts my motivation to get out with my camera. As a result, my active participation here comes in periodic binges in which I process and post all of the photos that I create from each shooting adventure, then slide back into passive participation again until I return from another outing with my camera. I'm very happy that this little community of photographers is willing to abide this idiosyncratic pattern of mine, as I would not enjoy photography nearly as much without you all.
Here is another shot from Moorecroft park, taken with the 20 f/3.5 UD mounted on my current favourite fun-box, the Fuji X-T2, with a focal reducer to mimic a full frame field of view, and processed through On1 Photo RAW 2018.
