Colin - saw this on Flickr and I was sure it would be here too. Good to see Reagan again - Reagan - you haven't changed in all these years - looking well there, so whatever you're doing - keep doing it.
My original idea for this shoot was for me to cross Abbey Road while holding my equally iconic Nikon Df with a MFNG attached. But then I realized, how am I gonna capture the scene if I'm holding the Df? So I handed the Df to my friend and asked him to take the shots while I cross the road. This intersection is very difficult to shoot, since it is a busy road and the sun was starting to set. I used the Nikkor-SC 55 1.2 which turns out to be close to the focal length that was originally used for the Beatles' album. The original was also shot on a ladder but we don't have that time nor resources to mimic the framing. So yep, here's my selfie on Abbey Road:
How did you do that, Jay? It looks like a view of actual flowers through a window that is engraved with a floral pattern. Am I close?
Here are a couple more shots from the park in Nanoose Bay. The first was taken with the 200 f/4 Q, and the second with the 20 f/3.5 UD (looking south towards Nanaimo).
No time to keep up with the thread nor take many images these days.
Did have the bag with me this morning with a clear sunrise and a fully clear day to follow.
As you may know from a previous discussion about me getting a new telelens I ordered a Nikon 80-200mm f/4.0 ais lens. The swedish government has lost a lot of tax and custom fees during the last years so they have decided to be harder on collecting these fees. Now they have implemented a new system to make sure they get the money. My lens have arrived to Sweden (from Japan) but I have to pay the fees before I get it. So, it all got a bit more expensive than I thought...Hopefully Iīll have the lens in my hands next week.
While waiting, hereīs a few more shots from the spring forest. All shot with the Nikkor-N.C 24mm f/2.8.
On this one I added one of the Vivitar extension rings. Love shooting close-ups with this 24mm. Vitsippa by Kristian Hagelin, on Flickr

Sorry to hear, but that's how it works overhere as well.
"Pay at the door", 7% Customs, 21% VAT and 10-20 handling fee. And the tax and VAT is item + shipping costs.
Every now and an item slips thru Customs.
Biggest chance is when an item is bought in Hong Kong. The item is the shipped via the UK

Yeah, it used to be that one payed the extra fee when picking it up directly at the post office, but since that didīnt work out you gotta pay everything online...7% customs and 25% VAT/tax. What used to happen before is that the post office sometimes forgot to take the extra fee, thatīs why they implemented this method. Not being able to get away with it any longer.
I wonder whatīs gonna happen after brexit when buying from UK. Will the other EU-countrys have to pay tax when brexit is all through?

And the other way round as well.
I guess that's the idea. Out of the EU, no more preferential treatment. The UK choose for it, not the EU.
Scotland is welcome after their independence.

Love the first one. Never tried an extension tube on the 24 NC.
You have shown me its capabilities so will need to give that combination a try.
In the meantime I have a lot of sunsets to process.
