Thanks a lot my friend.
I guess it is Jean-Luc Godard to whom you are referring - Not sure that's a compliment though....that guy is indeed not only dreadfully pretentious but he is also a bit "outdated', isn't he? :-)
By the way, I love your 55 micro pic above - this makes me think of the famous Abbey Road picture but with a touch of the terrific Ben style (it is a compliment...).
Thanks again for looking and commenting
Philippe,
I hope you were not offended. Jean-Luc Gddard, the French Nouvelle Vague film director. He was huge in Japan. However, I did not watch his film until it was already considered a classic, in the 90s. I have not watched his film recently, but It really meant to be a compliment. ( Loved his "Weekend' and "Alphaville'. ) Something about the facial expression on your subjects reminded me of Peter Jackson and Jean Lvc Goddard. I felt, Peter Jackson can be an insult, so I chose to refer to Jean Luc Goddard.
Yes, Ben style and also of Daido Moriyama ( a Japanese photographer ). I grew up being mesmerized by Moriyama's photos on photo magazine. That is, definitely a complement. Thank you

25-50/4 AI-s on Df.
I once visited Topaz, Utah years ago. Another site of Japanese Internment camp. It feels similar in terms of geography. In the middle of a desert, an desolate. Topaz did not have a memorial tombstone. ( there may be now ). I know there is a new museum in a nearby town.

I'm dutifully following you on Flickr and I happen to wander on here and find you're holding out on me.
Lovely shot - you did well to get that from the hip.
Luka - I don't see Godard - I'd say Jacques Demy - but only because I'm picking a French director.
George - congrats - wonderful purchase. Yes, if only Nikon would get their act together.
Ben
Ben,
Now, I had to look up Jacques Demy. Oh, he was the director of "the Umbrella of Cherbourg" I grew up with the famous song. Once again, I did not watch the movie until in the late 80s. All the wonderful cinematic experiments. I loved that film once I got the 'opera' aspect of the film.

Soon you will have filters that add back chromatic aberration, coma etc and sell it as another vintage look filter.

And,, where is your photo ?
Lujka - yes, the Umbrellas of Cherbourg - but his films were not all like that. One my favourites is Baie Des Anges (Bay of Angels) with Jeanne Moreau. It's very dark and romantic. Nothing like Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
Sorry but I don't have any pics to share here. I'm shooting Canon these days. I just sold my A7RII so I don't have a camera to put my Nikons on - that's why George's comment about Nikon releasing a mirrorless cam resonated so much. But I've got my eye on the A9 - so who knows.
