The sun broke though late evening so I managed a couple of outdoor shots to put the 55 SC 1.2 through its paces. Using this lens will take some time to master.
Some freaky looking streaky OOF stuff going on here at f/1.4
F/1.4 again. I preferred to fix the lens focus and rock back and forth to obtain subject focus.
Opening it up a bit to f/5.6 sharpens things up a lot.
I am quite pleased with my purchase. One day I'd like to run side by side comparisons with the 50mm D,G, and H variants.
Just an anecdote: my FM2, equipped with an old MD-12, was acting up a bit lately. Sometimes it wouldn't fire (triggered by the "electronic" shutter release button on the MD-12's grip), but all manual operations worked just fine.
Took out the battery-basket and was surprised to see that the Energizer Lithium-batteries had "Use before year 2007" printed on it. It's been a while since I've changed the batteries in the beaten-up Motor-Drive, can't remember the year - maybe the 8 AA-cells were in use since the late 1990-years ;-)
Many of my old cameras are working over 10 years on one batterie, quite amazing in the world of "power-banks" for cell-phones and stuff like this.
Excellent images all over the place, complete with returning friends. Just what I needed on my hangover day after overdoing the red wine last night at a football friend's 40th.
Rework of astro image from last week. It's like learning post processing all over again !
