Hope everyone is gearing up for a nice weekend.
Rafael, terrific clouds. Glad you're ok. Patty and I had a similar accident on the 5 freeway a few months ago. Very slow traffic and big bimmer just plowed into the back of our car. Everyone was ok and the other driver had good insurance and took responsibility, but my car was nearly totaled. The manager of the body shop said they've been incredibly busy from all the crashes caused by distracted drivers.
Anyway, here are a few from a really colorful sunset a few days ago. The first two were taken with the 28/2.8 ais and the last one with the 180/2.8 ED ais.
Ahhh, sunsets over the ocean, not much to beat that as far as setting goes, Jeff. Hope it was warm too!
Samy, enjoying you continued film explorations and shots. I'm having a hard time just leaving stuff on the card and not downloading to LR within one or two days, much less having to finish a roll, then wait for processing. Those were the days, sending off Velvia for mail processing and hoping they all made it back! How long typically does it take you to run through a roll? Do you simultaneously have multiple film cameras loaded?
Enjoying the pics from India Lestor, we have just started planning a 2 month trip there in March 2019 with a week in Singapore on the way out and a week in Hong Kong on the way back !

Jay, that lady looks thrilled, must be a combination of being in vicinity of that vintage car and being on camera.
Ray, thanks. Depends. Looking at what I have in the oven now, there's one from last weekend that is almost done, and got one roll pretty much finished yesterday. And then you send ithem off and wait and wait A bit of an antidote to today's instant gratification. And great demo of the 35 F2 OOF.
Getting the itch again
I want this 1968 Cuda to be my next car
Just need to get a little closer to the $45000 asking price

Experimenting bird close ups with the 600/5.6 + tube:
Both female and male with V1 + FT1 adapter + PK13 + Nikkor 600mm f5.6N ai-s EDIF + tripod, ISO 1600, f/8; ~4m of distance.
See that the rule - "push to the right" for better noise control in high ISO - definitively worked better for the female (above) than for the male, both at the noisy ISO 1600 of the V1 tiny sensor.
Its been raining since last two days. So I decided to shoot some video instead. Hope you dont mind sharing here. Shot with the Nikkor 85mm f2 AI, wide open. I am new to video shooting, so pardon the shakes.
Left - QC, right - K
Above set at infinity, below set at MFD ~1.5m and with hoods extended.
D810 + Nikkor 85mm f1.4 hand held, f/2 at 1/320; 55.5% cropped (20/36MP).
Both have the same optical design, but I am leaning to the older lens because better construction and the feel in the hand. Not to say the hood of the older lens is far better: it is screwed, so we can fix it firmly, not the same for the K, AI and AI-S versions with a wobble hood.
Jose, agree with you, I have the earlier 135 2.8 (and also the 180 2.8 P), and that older style hoold is mechanically superior and more user friendly with its textured rim in the front. Congrats on getting yet another Nikkor
