Bummer on the wreck, Rafael, but glad you didn't have any damage. It is stressful having to go get another car when you weren't planning on it, that's for sure! I've had the Taurus now two years, and I still miss the Crown Vic trunk.
I saw that about Cape Town. For anyone that hasn't heard, you can read about it here:

Howdy fellers, not been around as I crashed my Nissan pathfinder on the 5 freeway, airbags went off, car is total loss, i was not at fault and did not suffer any damage. The whole thing was stressful, going through the accident and having to get a new car when the old one was perfectly fine.
Jeff continues to paint with light, Let me attempt a cheap emulation.
Nikkor 5.8CM, polarized filter and D3. We continue to get no rain, but I cannot complain when Cape Town is going trough much worse.
From our deck after a much needed thunderstorm - a rare occurrence in Knysna. The sun had set about 30 min earlier - this image doesn't do justice to the colours.
Rafael - such a pity about your crash but very pleased that the airbags and presumably seat belt did their job. A car can always be replaced but you, my friend, cannot!
As you and Laura have mentioned Cape Town is in trouble and in the middle of a blame game - what is it about politicians? Simply put the normally adequate reservoirs are virtually empty and the town is expected to be on delivered water soon. Cape Town is a winter rainfall area and usually has heavy rain from May through August which in "normal" years is more than adequate. There have been poor rains for the past 3 years not only in Cape Town but for much of the Western Cape including Knysna where we are on severe water restrictions (87 litres pp per day).
Would have, could have, should have doesn't help at all and if prayer worked the problem would have been solved by now. There is a major acquifer but the issue is getting the water out and treating it. The "environmental" lobby also try to put every obstacle they can in the way.

I needed some lightweight gear in my backpack when I did a first test of my homemade bike fender yesterday. Our snow went to mud overnight, but fenders work in snow and mud. Passed the test.
So I took a Rokinon 85mm and the Nikon 24mm f/2.8 AIS with my trusty D600 that lost its battery grip to be less of a big lump on my back. I ended up shooting mostly the 85mm, but there are a handful of ok images with the 24mm as well
you are looking at my Wisconsin winter commuter, a vehicle much more capable in snow than most SUVs. I even have dedicated studded snow tires for it, except so far there has hardly been any snow this winter. The big feels like a dump truck compared to my road bikes
I am seeing a lot more people commuting this way in Mpls, right in the heart of the city. I fear for their well being, not from going down on icy streets, but from drivers not looking for them or sliding into them.

Glad to hear you were not hurt in the accident, Rafael.
Super portrait Ken. Love the stone arch framing.
The thunderstorm scenic is beautiful, Peter. Great colors, love the rain against the colorful backdrop.
Sorry Ram, no help of the repair. I'm barely brave enough to open up simple MF lenses to clean dust. Good luck with the repair.
Still not shooting much. Started some house DIY & decoration. Need to finish that before the garden needs its spring overhaul.
Rafael - close call by the sound of things. Glad you were able to walk away.
Ram - If I were in the USA I'd offer to effect that repair for you.
George – has your DF been returned. Did they send back the faulty board as well?
Leighton & Scott – love your sunflower shots
Reagan – Nostalgic capture.
Samy – really like the tones of the Ilford FP4
Peter O – I had a cat that looked just like that. Lived for 18.5 years. Cool rain/fire shot.
Jose – you are producing some great images with that non-Nikon camera and your birding skills!
Raul – looking forward to some pictures from your newly acquired 105
Peter B - I used to commute to work by bike between March to October. Approx 6 miles each way but gave it up due to it being too dangerous. Idiotic speeding motorists driving too fast down country lanes trying to get their offspring to school on time.
Ray – Nigella is also known as Love-in-a-mist. Architecturally amazing plant that goes through many different phases.
