Looks rather like a tropical paradise Andy... you're out sunning Florida and definitely helping those knee deep in snow remember that green still exists on this big round globe... Thanks for that.
Thanks Curtis, it's a beautiful spot for sure, the owner moved from Ben's (bruni) favourite city - Manchester England and bought 160 acres 40 years ago. Still got his accent ! The property has 2 cabins and the homestead, is bordered by World Heritage Rainforest on 3 sides and has a 4.5 kms driveway ! very peaceful and secluded.
It was my 50th birthday the day before we went, very hard to book as there is only 2 cabins and Xmas is a popular time for getaways here, especially as the Tableland's elevation means it is generally a few degrees cooler than it is down in Cairns.
Here's a couple more shots from the area, at the southern end of the Atherton Tablelands, a volcanic plateau immediately inland from Cairns, once all rainforest before most of it was cleared for farming.
More from the Mall - Woodmill Lane - it was a sawmill in a previous life as Knysna was the centre of the S A Timber industry for many years. lots of recycled machinery as reminders and some quirky art.

I don't know how you all can go outside when its that cold
It's 2 degrees right now and I'm about to go do chores. I go out every hour to check on water for the animals and collect eggs before they freeze. I guess we're a tougher breed than you Florida boys!

Samy, she's tougher than I am. She has a bad cold right now and is still going out at night to check on the ewes that are soon to lamb. I offered to do it, but she says she knows what shes looking for.
Wish her a quick recovery! Its supposed to warm up a bit this coming week, that should help some. It must be brutal to have to keep running out at these temperatures.
George, sorry to hear about your Df. But yeah, let's see some Lomograpy shots here soon! I have never used that brand, curious what results you get.
Lots of nifty fifties on this page and recently. Peter, cool collection on that sawmill/Mall wall. Rafael, sweet cars with the 5.8cm!
Glen, nice scene with the mountains in the back.
Andy, happy birthday! Too bad the rainforest in some of the area is gone, but glad to hear there's some still left.

How are you when its 94 out and the humidity is at 90%?
Samy, love that lakeside shot, looks like you have some winter going on I like the b/w shot as well. I´ve just entered a b/w period again, it´s a lot of fun.
Andy, really nice to see some shots from tropical environment. I´ve been camping in Cape Tribulation as well. It was not a thunderstorm but we had som heavy rainfall, staying up there in a tent is a bit of a challenge Cape Tribulation is one of the coolest places I´ve been to, ever.
Rafael, that 5.8cm renders quite cool.
Glen, nice to see you back posting. Love that last one!
Leighton, you guys must be a tougher breed being farmers. I might start working on a farm this coming spring. I have a few projects I´d like to try out. Let´s see how it goes..
Another triptych showing how a more typically insectivorous bird takes a fruit: attacking it!
See that at the end the Elaenia holds 2 fruits before leaving to feed its offspring some 100m away in a gallery forest.
It is never easy follow Jose with bird shots..... nevertheless here is my low resolution attempt with the longest lens I have. That 200-500 VR looks mighty tempting but I have a tax bill looming.
