Grilling in single digit temps? That must take awhile to reach operating temperature. Our grill is safely ensconced in the garage, and may get rolled out to the driveway if temps go above 25 degrees.
Do you use 'P' for pick and 'X' for rejects when culling you photos in LR?
After import I view my images and use the X or P keys to flag the image.
Then it is an simple pull down menu command to remove all of the unwanted rejects from LR - with an option to remove then from the hard drive as well.
Colin
I use the "rejected" flag "X" for photos I wish to discard and dispose of them as you outline Colin. It is a very simply procedure. The use the "star" rating system to distinguish what I perceive as quality for those selected. I'll always process 5 and then 4 star images. Beyond that it will be a question of how many good images there are and what kind of mood I'm in. I use the "P" flag ONLY for images I've processed and passed along to Photoshop for resizing, converting from 16 to 8 bits, sharpening and saving. The system works quite well.

Chuong - congrats on the "tick mark" 5cm! They are sweet lenses.
I agree with Peter. I think a "nifty fifty" challenge would be a great idea. Going to put my 5cm on my Df today and take it with me on my trip down to the university my son attends.
George
Ah ha... I missed the fact this is a "tick mark" 5cm. That definitely is another story with its nine aperture blades. My 5cm f/2 is from a later year and has six blades. I know the "tick mark" lenses are much more dear and that you have one as well George. I doubt I'll want to spend the coin needed to add one to my kit.

Good to see you and Happy New Year.
Hope Sue is doing fine and that you haven't shared your germs with her.
Hope you get over the crud soon, I know it's no fun.
Thanks for the well wishes Leighton... but I think a touch of flu must be treated as it is... small potatoes compared with what some among us have experienced. You and Barbara did the heavy lifting last year.
Sue is laid up as well. We don't get together when one or the other of us is feeling poorly, so its been ten days since we've seen each other, except using Apple's Facetime. That helps.
Sue saw a doctor a couple of days ago and she said what looks like a cold seems to be flu this time around. All I know is that I don't have energy for much more than pressing the keys on my computer...
Lovely image Colin. I find my eye drawn to text in the lower corner. I LOVE that font. A friend was a font designer for Adobe and at one time he gave me his collection of fonts, 23,857 items in that folder. I probably have the font you use, but I'd have trouble finding it. It definitely makes me think about your countryman Charles Rennie Mackintosh whom we discussed before.
It is not exactly the same but has a similar flavor. Really a delight. Since I occasionally do some publishing work I'm always looking for interesting fonts.

Nifty fifty challenge sounds fun.
The weather will never keep me from my appointed rounds.

Rafael - Yes, that's the tick mark 9-blade. I have two other 9-blade lenses w/o tick mark. Another 9-blade on its way here. You see, I have serious NMFAS.

And as the seals follow the fishing vessel to capture cast off fish, your friends on FM wait patiently for you to decide you don't NEED all these lenses and happily buy your castoffs...
I still own the 20 f3.5 U.D. you sold to me after you'd bought another copy, much in the way I did with John when I bought his surplus 16 f/3.5... We take care of one another...
One of the joys of this thread is that when a lens is the subject of conversation... friends pull out THEIR copy and put the lens to the test. Thanks Peter for demonstrating that this humble lens, an oldie but goodie, is definitely up to the task...
Here's a shot I took with the 5cm f/2 S. It is definitely a sweet lens.
