A bit late, but Happy New year everyone!! Love everything that´s been shared lately.
Top quality.
We spent the new years weekend far out on the countryside away from all fireworks and such. We rented a little cabin by a small lake full off of rainbow trout. We fished the few hours while we had light. No fish caught, not even one
I took a few shots though, mostly with Af. But I took a few with the manual nikkors as well.
I remember it snowing once when we lived at Seymour Johnson AFB, base sent dump trucks around base housing with 3-4 guys with shovels in the back, throwing sand out of them. Instead of spreading the sand, they just dumped clumps of sand every so often, not very effective
Nice snow shot George!

Well it didn't take too long for the snow to start falling after I got back from the pond (above)
Tried today a few MF-lenses on my D850, but they do not fit.
It seems to me the index tab on the camera is too long.
I tried it with the 20/3.5 UD and 85/1.8 HC
The 35/1.4 N did fit with some light force.
I love the second and third shots. I also like how cold looking you made them in post.
Hang in there, we're supposed to be back to our "normal" temps by Monday.
I guess its all relative. We too will be getting back to "normal" with a forecast of 33 degrees F on Monday. First above freezing temp reading in over two weeks. This will seems like summer to others though.

I don't have any problem with my D850 and MF lenses.
My 85 HC works as well but I did my own AI adapting.
I just measured the depth of the cut I made on the 85HC and it is 0.97mm.
Some additional measures:
A straight edge lying across the outer flat of the lens flange just clears the AI actuator on the body, but is very close, perhaps >0.03mm.
The AI actuator can be pushed toward the rear of the camera, it bottoms out at 0.22mm from the front flange.

Normally I use my MF-lenses only on my Df, this was just to try.
All my MF-lenses have a factory AI-ring and are chipped.
I'll check the the distance.
I'll also try to put them on my D500.
