Really cool meeting between you guys, Samy and Colin. Must be really fun to meet up like that!
Haven´t done much shooting lately, a little here and a little there..
I had nothing to do a couple of nights ago so I just had some fun with the Nikkor-H.C 85 f/1.8 with the christmas tree in the background. No big scientific breakthrough here but it´s fun to do a little research every now and then...
I always find it amazing when people in this thread meet.
My 24/2 AI arrived after getting temporarily lost at the post office and I was left rather flabbergasted after calling Customer service ("I'm sorry Mr Chin but we cannot understand why it says 'Item not ready' in the system. Perhaps one of our guys forgot to scan it into the system. Don't worry it will turn up shortly!")
Condition is perfect; I don't know how these Japanese eBay sellers do it. Testing... It does seem like it has some kinda veiling flare wide open, not unlike the 50/1.2. Maybe it's the mundane stuff or dreadful weather I've been testing it on but it seems like a dog of a lens so far... yikes
It's not my 600/5.6 - mine is not going anywhere anytime soon - it's too good.
I want a 800/5.6 ED-IF AIS, but I just can't justify it at the moment - Perhaps this summer.
Hello all! I've been gone for a while and of all places at the beach on the Florida Gulf. Last week was a great week in spite of the fact that the temps were 40F and no one went into the water except Canadians.
Glad to see Colin and Samy met up in London. Terrific shots of the Belfast, Tower Bride and of course Leighton's Gates to the Palace.
Leighton what a terrific sunrise!
I took the D200 to the beach hoping to catch the setting sun and using the CCD processor which is terrific ... so this post is one such sunset on a chilly day.
I have been posting rather poor photos recently, due to sharing the testing of the 800mm 5.6 without a good subject for it. This 800mm will stay in the case until after the holidays, when it is going back to the bay but in the downtown area and across from the Naval Station.
Here I subject you to bad pictures for a good reason, today the remains of Cory Iverson, the 30 year old father of two that perished fighting the Thomas fire came home to San Diego.
Bridge after bridge over the freeways was crowded with firefighters and regular folk for a hundred miles. We live the fires, we know he gave his life for us.
Had to use the 35-200mm having no idea of where I would be. This lens is soft in the left side. I ended up on a side slope holding my balance.
As a Socal hearse this one was going 80mph on the freeway and I could barely get it. I show this to mark the reality of the event. The rest needs not explanation.
Lots of great shots being posted. Man I miss this thread, and I miss all of you! I really have to get back into it. I still have photos from months ago that are still IN the card (which is still IN the camera). I feel like I lost interest in shooting, so I'll just comment for now
