WOW Rafael, you are the man! Congrats!
Mine is an externally battered copy, fortunately with good optics.
I suggest you post your images in this group at flickr: https://flic.kr/g/osQsj
Looking forward for your debut shots!
Two more from the beast lens, both birds mashing the fruit before swallowing it:
D7200 + Nikkor 800mm f5.6 ai-s EDIF + tripod + gimbal head; ISO 640, f/8 at 1/1250s. 29% crop (7/24Mp)....Show more →
Jose, I am not sure how I will use this lens yet, birding is not in my future as both birds and their fodder are scarce in SoCal, the lens is too long for the Zoo and for full size ships in San Diego Bay. There will be opportunities but I will need to create them.
This lens is truly my last Nikkor addition, will be culling my collection of Nikon stuff through the early part of next year.
I now range from 7.5mm to 800mm, a 100x range. with everything MF in between. I am done!.

Yup - really good - confused me for a few seconds too!
I was completely confused by the condition of the "sky" until I read George's comment... then reconsidered myself. Very clever treatment Jay. I love it.
Well done Rafael! And yes, your kit has been an inspiration for all of us over the years. You buy everything AND you buy it is mint condition. I don't expect you'll be having a fire sale, but we all know you have multiple copies of a few of your favorites. Make certain to give folks on this thread a heads up when you begin listing gear. You might find some takers among the usual suspects.
Another shot from Green Gulch Zen Center. As you would expect there are quite a few statues of the Buddha tucked away beneath trees around the garden. This was shot with the 85 f/1.4 AI-s, the converted with Silver Efex Pro 2.

I used to live in San Rafael (~1979-83). Spent a huge amount of time at Point Reyes and even more in the hills and woods in and around Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Brings back many wonderful memories. My favorite restaurant in those days was Jerry's Farm House, which was right on the corner in Olema, epicenter of the 1906 'quake. They used to serve a basket of fresh biscuits with butter, honey and jam. Famous for fresh oysters from the bay, of which I am not fond.
Welcome to the thread Dan. You may have posted here before, but it was likely during my recent sabbatical. I note the list of your gear and clearly you belong with us, talking about lenses and sharing photos taken with them.
Jerry's Farm House is long gone. I moved to Marin the end of 1990 and I vaguely remember the place but it has had a couple more recent tenants. My partner and I spend time at the Vedanta Retreat Center not too far from Olema, so we drive by that building often. When you lived here I lived and worked in Vallejo where I was Director of Community Development... seems like another life completely.
Again, glad you've found us and have jumped into the conversation.
For those who celebrate this event, I'm sending Thanksgiving greetings. Sue wanted me to send hers along as well. Sue mused about the fact she's heard about folks on this thread for seven years. That is pretty remarkable.
Enjoy the day everyone, however you choose to live it.
Ryan, as Mark said, this thread is Nikon branded Manual Focus lenses on (mostly Nikon) cameras. There is a thread, however, for non Nikon branded lenses on Nikon cameras here where that Voigtlander is definitely on topic Nice shots!:

These are nice, however, I think at very minimum the glass has to be Nikon branded. The forum thread changed up to allow different cameras using Nikon glass though. Someone who is a long timer can correct me if I am wrong. Sorry to be the messenger on potentially bad news.

Your beast lens shots look great Jose.
The 800/5.6 is on my short list if I happen to find one and have the $$ lying around to afford it.

Well...Kevin I guess this subject lends itself to monochrome, so here's my first attempt on this forum, a sort of 'gamma infinity' treatment (and a tip of the hat to Minor White!)
For years I only did B&W and while more of an abstraction, I have become seduced by color.
Reagan the B&S is calling out for the 800E .... resist .... BTW nice shots of Jamaica!
Peter I see some shots with the 28-45 which I really like. Maybe not as sharp as the 25-50 but a heck of a lot smaller and at a useful range. Keep em coming!
Mark I recently got a S2 that was CLA'd by the previous owner. Now ALL I have to do is develop the roll I took a month ago. Time really flies!
Jay absolutely terrific. Good phots can be found anywhere if you look, even upside down!
On to the Tampa Car Show to fulfill a request from Samy .... more cars!
