These two are part of the joust's stable of horses. I wound up in Jack's saddle for a spin of the muddy and sloppy field, have pictures to prove it, but those won't see the light of day.... The other horse is a movie star, I thought they said Frozen, but evidently not that movie... something that began with F.
I guess time marches on and memories fade
I forgot to mention my friend Ray's passing on October 19.
He has been gone 3 years now
For those who didn't know him. He was a constant here early on
RIP Ray, lovely bloke. Always a kind / encouraging word for everyone.
Do you have a new camera ? You should have said !
I'm sure you borrowed a D800 a while ago, was it just file size that put you off then ? I love mine, does almost everything I need in a camera (just the AF / FPS is a little lacking) would love the new 850 but might upgrade to the 810 sometime as prices drop.
Jay made me buy a D800E
Taking it on vacation next week to see if we bond
I still consider my Fuji XT2 my main squeeze
I looked for a 810 but they were another $600-700 more
RIP Ray, it is the time of the year to remember those who left before us.
People were doing exactly that at the Mission San Luis Rey today.
Not as pretty an event as usual, the Franciscan Friars kept their corridors, arches and gardens off limits, shame on them for fearing some trampled grass.
Colin - that shot of the statue is gorgeous.
Rafael - the cars are fantastic.
And the last shots of the Cascades are absolutely wonderful. I think those of us who live near huge wild areas have a real advantage. I especially love the "Whiskey Jack."
As was the case with Knysna, Cape St Francis, 110 miles East of Knysna was affected by fire on the same day. Acres of coastal scrub were decimated but with no loss of homes. 4 months later nature has shown her mettle and millions of wild flowers have bloomed.
We were lucky enough to be there this weekend.
Acres of felicia filifolia
felicia aethiopica (macro 7mm tube)
Coimmon Gazania (g.krebsiana)
Tny member of the ice plant family. Diameter smaller than a nickel1

Went on a 12 mile hike today on likely the last weekend before the trails fill with snow. Stellar day.

Kendall Katwalk
The most expensive section of the PCT since they had to blast out a few hundred yards of rock.
John,
Superb fishy-eye landscapes. You really know how to work that lens.
I have recently been watching Youtube videos by a Landsape photographer called Thomas Heaton.
He hails from Northern England (Ben will love the accent) and only recently gave up his day job to became a full time landscape photographer, vlogger and workshop presenter. He has a down to earth attitude and his use of drone footage adds to the quality of his videos. Thought the link might be of interest to some.
