I'm glad to see that my Florida brethren are doing okay, so far. We should start to feel the winds in central Georgia in the morning with sustained winds of 40-45 mph all day; nowhere near as bad as all of you.

You could drive a boat down the creek behind the house its really up in the yards

True. I was just talking about the case. Will see how long it going to last
Actually Chuong, when I saw that case I thought about Rafael's collection and the guessing game we played about what was in each case. I think you did very well with that purchase, though like others here, it was really the lenses that caught my attention. Very sweet my friend. You've been a model citizen on this thread... Kit building really IS forever...
I've finally given up tracking the hurricane. Last report from Sue was she was comfortably settled in her aunt's condo in Boca Raton and that was perhaps six hours ago. The storm is well north now, approaching the east side of Tampa. I'm guessing that is in Ken's neighborhood. Fortunately the storm has lessened a bit in intensity, though it is still capable of doing great damage. I know we won't have an accurate accounting of damage for some time.
I have agree with Ken about the crazy folks who are out in the wind and rain to attract eyeballs to their channel. I've been viewing live on YouTube so can switch easily between CNN, Fox, CBS, the Weather Channel. I finally gave up. All I really need are a couple of graphics on the NYTimes website that show position and possible direction.
Hope you fare well Ken. Happy you didn't float away Reagan. I'd forgotten the name of the town where you live so I couldn't track what was happening there. I looked at the names of the towns on the Treasure Coast but none of them rang a bell. I vaguely recall you saying the name when we got together FIVE YEARS AGO. Time definitely flies.
Check in tomorrow or at least when power is back on. And thanks everyone for your well wishes. Although I wasn't there personally, having Sue in the middle of it certainly didn't leave me resting easily. But so far, so good.

all I can tell you is that the TC-14e II and TC-20e III are lightyears ahead of the TC-16a, but that is all I ever tested on the 600mm f/40 AIS. I never put a TC on my 300mm f/4.5. The best TC I have is the D500.
I've had good results on the D200 using the TC 14b on the 300 4.5 EDIF . This Cape Buffalo shot was using this combo. I picked up the TC off eBay and my son posted it to me in SA . Pretty inexpensive as I recall.
"It was a noisy night, but it's over. Water, power, and gas are still working. I haven't walked around the house to check for damage yet, it's still rather windy out there.
We have plenty of supplies, and both cars are fully fueled."
Tethered to my iPhone as we have no internet! It sort of reminds me of the 300 baud modem days!
All is fine and the house has made it through four "eyes." The storm shifted east till it was it was over the top of us at 0130 with winds at 100 mph. Never lost electricity. Neighbor had a tree fall on his garage. Our roads are open and we put the storm debris out to the curb this morning.
Some shots of the trellis we lost also put out to the curb this morning. I want tp thank everyone for the emails and PM's. Talked to Reagan he's fine and didn't lose electricity either.
Laura the storm track went up central Florida and passed west of the villages. By then it was a cat 1. Hope your folks are all right. Raphael glad your brother was spared, it is a relief that Miami didn't get hit badly.
I'm going to hit "send" on this and hopefully it makes it out.
Ken, delighted that you sustained so little damage. Ingrid's brother lives in Land of lakes and while we haven't heard since Sunday - no news is good news!

The Dassault Rafale is a really beautiful plane. Older tech though.
Don't ask why but in our office we have a very large print of one climbing vertically - shot plane to plane.
