uh oh the warbird controversy is starting up Corsair vs. Spitfire How about the Mustang? Or for that matter the P-38 with its twin pencil fuselage? I find a whole bunch of those vintage warbirds very interesting. Out of the Luftwaffe ones, the Ta 152 is my favorite to look at. Fortunately came too late to make any difference in the war.
Ah, durability vs. maneuverability vs. speed vs. versatility - they all were great and still are.
Worrying times for our MF friends and their extended families in FL at the moment.
I have been watching CNN feeds and it looks very scary.
I just saw an interview with a guy in Key Largo who has lashed his 41 foot boat with 700 feet of rope to the dock. He is sheltering only 15 feet away from it in a small building. Bravado or foolishness - only time will tell.
It is nearly Sunday lunchtime here so am about to head off to the pub to meet up with my cousin.

Kristina also owns that lens. Excellent choice. Ieven though it looks and renders very modern, perfectly sharp and nearly without flaws, I still feel this lens has some character that can be put to good use. I sinned and used Kristinas lens more often then she has done so herself.
At the moment, I travel with a 2 lens kit. The 35mm f2 Nikkor-O and the 300mm f2,8 Ai-S. Small, convenient, nearly fits in a pocket
Yes, I am really pleased with it. I was very close buying the AF50/1.8D. I read a lot of reviews and comparisons and decided to go for the G. I couldn't find a used cheaper ex, so I went for a new one.
Quite a big span on your travel kit. I find it really challenging in bringing very few or only one lens for a travel kit. But it's also very developing to press oneself using a small kit

Ben you got deep colors lately, is that due to the M10 or your PP ?
really? I hadn't noticed that. It's PP - the M10 has nice colour, quite neutral, but I've been playing around with pp and with programs other than Lightroom.

I know the lists of compatibility, but am looking more for what TC (TC14B, TC14EII, TC301) gives better IQ with 300/4.5 ED- AI, 400/5.6 ED-AI, 600/5.6 ED-IF AIS, 800/5.6 ED-IF AIS, etc.
Maybe I'll have to find out for myself . . . .
all I can tell you is that the TC-14e II and TC-20e III are lightyears ahead of the TC-16a, but that is all I ever tested on the 600mm f/40 AIS. I never put a TC on my 300mm f/4.5. The best TC I have is the D500.

I just went to Sam's Club and saw this gun case for $70. I picked it up for my lenses. I think it's not too bad for the money. It's not made in USA though.
Curtis is always asking for images of forum members - so here is a attempt at a selfie(?) during a walk around the National Portrait Gallery in London. I am facing the portrait dead centre with the 16mm and am not the grey haired man on the right. Can you work out what is going on?
