Last time I actually took a photo was over two weeks ago on the 12th August .... whatever happened to the 365 project ... oh dear !!
Thought I better put the PB-6 etc back in the cupboard and stash the macro kit ....
Then the bug bit .... so I mounted up the 85mm f1.4 to take a couple of pix of a recent plant, introduced to the apartment by my wife .... no idea what it's called .... but I'm sure someone will let me know ...
Then I put the 180mm on the PB-6 etc again ... and got really close to a spur growing from on of the flowers ...
It just looked interesting and small enough to be shot on tubes or bellows !!
Took a couple with the 105mm f2.8 micro too ....
And finished with the aperture ring and front ring of the 85mm f1.4 .....
See what happens when I think I need to shoot something ...... anything !!
btw some great shots of the eclipse, and Bruni and Phillipe are as always entertaining us with their banter .... Leighton good too see you shooting with Nikon glass .... shame about the Fuji stuff .... what with that and Sony .... I tried the Panasonic ... not happy with that .... or any other body .... so sticking with Nikon !!
Just leave me in my purist pit .... I'll just wallow over here ....

Scott really liked the tractors, especially the flywheel shot!
Raphael DDG1000? Haven't I seen that on another ______ ?
Ronny, incredible shots in your own style, terrific.
James handsome young fellow nicely captured.
Leighton quite a capture on the "young lady's" eyeware.
The Lakeland Corvette Club took a road trip to Muscle Car City in Punta Gorda. Florida. The owner of the venue Rich Trerworgy, a local contractor purchased a WalMart and uses it to store his collection of Corvettes and Muscle Cars. Here is the first as you enter the exhibit, a 1954 Corvette.
Lazy weekend, not doing much. So last night I had to get out and do something, I took my tripod, camera and the 50/1.8 ais and biked around places I dont visit that much. It´s beginning to get really hard finding new places in my city to shoot. Or is it just a matter of inspiriation?
Well, here´s one from last night, the highway leading into Malmö heading south. Highway by Kristian Hagelin, on Flickr
James - love those portraits, especially the second one. All that busy bokeh is gorgeous. But who are we kidding, that lens is enormous. I've git sitting on a shelf as a bookend. Those pics are so beautiful I'm almost tempted to take it out but then I remember how big it is.
Ken - a local contractor bought a Walmart?? And all those cars are in his collection?? What kind of a contractor is he? I think I need to get into whatever he's doing.
Leighton - the blue bristles on the broom really set off the Peg's house pic for me.
Kristian - I know how you feel. I'm totally fed up with taking pics of the same places.
Ben, looking at your pictures, there is so much more to explore. I'm not sure I ever could get bored there. Which however is easy for me to say since I live in a rather quiet area.
But stuff happens here as well. Yesterday I took Kristina and Anouk to a car show, some 20 miles from where we live.
Unfortunately I also took a lot of pictures using a Sigma 35mm f1,4. Not a bad lens, but I can't show the results here. I actually believe I could have taken the same pictures with a 35mm f2 Nikkor-O and get very similar results, but my copy has not been converted to Ai yet

I'm not Engligh so I didn't know, thanks for the link!
I suppose if one must be daft, the Colorado thearpy would be more my style.
It exudes the crazy lifestyle of the rich and famous.
Look what I found on a lower floor.
I was told not to post these pics of my girls so as not to date the thread, but I just did.
Today was makeover day and Mom wanted pics of the girls.
So out came the 135/2 APO Zeiss, but also the 135/2 AIS (which I had to extract from the box that Ani sent it back in).
2011 shot taken with 50/1.2 @f/2 on D300 I believe.

James, those portraits of Sam are wonderful - the expressions are lovely and perfectly captured - the rendering is nice - I really like both of them, bravo !
Thank you Philippe. Sam actually has better expressions, but I imagine you already know what that is like - having your own daughters. I'll try and get a more natural smile with this lens.

James, awesome portraits of your son. Such a perfect separation between sharpness and oof.
//Kristian
Thanks Kristian. I'm in perfect agreement on the oof separation. I've been thinking of other uses - like product shoots, or how well extension tubes would work.

For street photography I think you would get some very interesting expressions. Hehehehe. But then, you could lay your kit in a wicker basket with flowers on top...sit at a cafe that overlooks your chosen setting, and then shoot em as they walk by sipping coffee.
John, I see TWO girls in braces... which translates into LESS money for toys...
But they look much more comfortable than the steel braces I wore for five years as a teen... and that was after four teeth were extracted. Since my girlfriend also had braces we often ended up the evening with bruised lips...
Nice to see you daughters growing up John. I won't tell them you posted their photos...
I won't bore everyone with photos from the birthday party I attended yesterday, apart from this shot of the guest of honor's younger sister. Margot is 20 months and Ansel turned 5 years old a few days ago. The day belonged to Ansel, but Margot fell in love with a red balloon that escaped a second birthday party nearby and began running to and fro dragging the balloon. This photo was taken after the balloon finally burst and dad discovered his little one was sunburned. He tried to be gentle but Margot was obviously in pain. I shot everything on Saturday with the 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI. I'd brought a number of lenses but I had to park some distance away and decided I didn't want to leave an untended bag filled with lenses in a public park.
