The lights change often and waited get the preferred colors as they cycle.

Northern lights last night. The city glow was no match for its intensity. Taken with the 25-50 f4 Ais. Thanks for looking.

George, Scott, and Scott, and Matt - thanks for the northern lights. In my area the clouds moved in with the Jeopardy show at 7:30 pm EST

*AND thanks everyone for the 2021 vs 2024 imaging feedback.

Scott and Matt, great shots!

Doing a quick look at mine now and seeing if there is another I can share. My wider stuff was not Nikkor

One thing I am noticing frame to frame is how quickly the color changed. I came across color reference on PBS and thought I would post the link here.

So, question for the group - My digital cameras are as follows: D3, D800, D810, Z6, and Z7. No need to sell any, for what I get might as well keep them.

I only use manual focus aperture priority and only take photos, hate video.

My Z6 is getting ratty, it is used a lot, happy with 24MP for daily use. Which new camera should I buy?

Nikon only of course. ZF? Z8? Z9? Wait for later this year?

If I was shopping now, I’d buy the Zf. I like the manual controls and the vintage feel of the Zf. I’m also starting to notice that there are in camera film simulations like the Fuji recipes that are being developed. That’s the one thing I miss from Fuji.

One last one with the Noct from last night. I have posted this view from where I grew up a couple of times in the past, but never in a million years would I have ever thought of this view with the northern lights! Fireflies joined too

My contribution with the GFX and PC 28

I have lots with the GF23 f4, hopefully an amazing timelapse too. Obviously mine are Aurora australis. The native lens colours / contrast are spectacular

I put the PC 28 on the camera at the end of the best show in the first shot then moved to another location for the pano as I wanted to watch motoGP practice so needed a better mobile signal

I'm patiently waiting for the Z6iii. My Z6ii is still in great shape, but I need faster autofocus to keep up with my grandchildren playing sports. Otherwise, the Z6ii meets all my needs.

Scott, George, and Andy you all did a great job. I can't decide which I like best, but these are some of the best photos of the Northern Lights that I've seen.

Neil, I'm sorry, but I can't answer your question. I just had to say, though, that this is a lovely shot. Very well done!

Not sure what you are using to export the picture. Perhaps, there's an option to include Exif. Based on the example you have shared though, it appears there is no Exif data in the image.

Two different Exif viewers show nothing or failure to read it.
