I have many favorite birds. One of them is the Tufted Titmouse. Apparently word of our feeding efforts (Barb is making them seed cakes) are spreading among the critter populations, and it is drawing birds I rarely get to see. The Tufted Titmouse I would notice about 3-5 times a year - now, every day they visit. They are about the size of a wine cork, but their shape makes them look larger.

Another early morning. It’s fun getting out for these again, it’s been a while. Makes me want to find an ultra wide. Not sure I can afford a 16mm, maybe a 20mm.
WOW Matt, what colour ! If every sunrise was like that I'd get up early for them.
The high roof Transit is a rare beast here and I had to go with what I could find, this being a newer model with less miles than everything else available at the time of my arrival.
As you can imagine it's very seasonal here, prices spike in Spring and Summer and lots of vans are backpacker specials with high kms and zero maintenance history.

Andy, What a beautiful spot! Meant to ask, does your van roof popup so you can stand up? Looks like a great rig.

Leighton, As a lineman did you climb towers like these?
While I was in the line department yes, I climbed towers like these. These particular towers have 2 transmission circuits on them. The top set of wires are 500kv and below them 230kv. We had a job once where one of the guys climbed down a long fiberglass ladder, strapped on and then we raised him up onto the line to fix a problem. Quite exciting work. The same guy told me one day that if I had the opportunity to go into the substation department, I should take it. So...I took the first available position and never looked back. I was in the line department for 2 years out of my 20 year career with the company.

There was a light drizzle/mist falling. Completely silent. If only I had a tent, camp chair and hot cup of coffee I could have stayed there all day
I know what you mean, so peaceful when it's like that. In fact, your last post in the woods inspired me to go out this morning into my "woods" to shoot some fog, images later. I did find out something interesting though. Our front field is being fertilized with deer poop! I have never seen so much in one area.
