Nice one, Leighton! It's been pretty misty and moisty here on eastern Vancouver Island the past couple of days too, but I haven't had any opportunities to photograph it.
On the other hand, I did have opportunities to photograph sunnier woods in the fall. So here are a few from my Fuji X-T4 with Lens Turbo II and the 35 f/2 OC at Big Qualicum River.
Battleground Lake which formed in a maar, an explosion crater formed when magma hit groundwater and explosively flashed into steam. There is a ring of ejecta around the lake.

I had to look at the first one a bit. When I first saw it I thought it was a composite because at first glance the grass looked like trees way off in the distance. If you scroll to block out the trees, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks Leighton. I see what you mean. I did not see it that way until you mentioned it. The white foreground is a snow and ice covered pond with late day shadows.
