While I was in the line department yes, I climbed towers like these. These towers have 2 transmission circuits on them. The top set of wires are 500kv and below them 230kv. We had a job once where one of the guys climbed down a long fiberglass ladder, strapped on and then we raised him up onto the line to fix a problem. Quite exciting work. The same guy told me one day that if I had the opportunity to go into the substation department, I should take it. So...I took the first available position and never looked back. I was in the line department for 2 years out of my 20 year career with the company.
