I have done a few of the rubber focusing ring on my Nikkor manual focus lenses. If it is to remove the "white chalking" I just use Dawn basic dishwashing liquid, warm water and a toothbrush. With the ring removed from the lens of course

Not an image, but a question. I believe it was someone by the name of Trenchmonkey who recommended some type of chemical to help restore the cosmetics of rubber focusing rings. Would anyone happen to remember that post or remember the name of the recommended product?

Question for anyone who has looked into it. Does Adobe have a NEF file update for the Zf yet?
Have you purchased one?
Nikon Zf NEF files can be read directly into Lightroom. Out of curiosity I just tried it after downloading some examples.
Zf shows up as the camera in the Library filter metadata. In LR's lens profile section the camera settings profile is selected.
I couldn't find an example shot in the camera's B&W mode in order to see if that came across natively with all the film options or whether it ended up in color. So, I'd say it kind of works but maybe doesn't capture all of the file formats and features yet.
EDIT:
I did an Adobe update a few days ago and looking into the applications folders there is not one listed for the Zf.
So, I'd say it is being mapped over (likely to the Z6) until an official update is released.

Getting close to the edge?
That cliff looks steep, sandy and fragile.
People fall off with some regularity and occasionally become a news item.
The N California geology is an amazing mix of rock, some sedimentary, some volcanic, frangible mixed with enduring, in a tortured mess since it is at the intersection of 3 fault zones.
This terrain really gets treacherous inland where trees fall over deep crevasses and then get covered by branches and pine needles, resulting in a situation like an African lion trap. Twice I fell victim and each time it took me fully a half an hour to extricate, thanks to my tripod.
So, that's another reason to carry a tripod, and stay on the trail.
And your snow need not be real, the sun was very strong and the air was 74F.
Grass was ruined, but surely the only snow we may ever see here. The adults seemed to enjoy it more that the kids.

I’m not 100% sure, but I want to say it was Hoppes #5…it’s a gun cleaning product.
Congrats on the new lens Scott. I shall not watch too closely since some of your work has already caused me to purchase one "new to me" lens in 2023.
Serge, great work from Carmo Convent Lisbon. Looks like a great spot, I still kick myself for not making time for Portugal when we were in Spain.
Siphiwe, caterpillars are too slow to be of any concern, unless they have superpowers in Africa. I actually like to photograph them when I come across them.
Enjoyed the Lyttleton homes tour, but that church really stands out for me Andy.
Regina, get well soon!
Wonderful Christmas light abstracts James. Those cat antics are too funny.
Serge, love how you used the top horns in your Rockefeller tree picture.

An amazing shot to start off B&W season, Leighton. Beautiful, though I clicked thru the flickr link to see if it was the ZF. C'mon man! ...Show more →
Thanks, Ray.
The weather was miserable but gave it the old college try.
Carmo Convent is a unique place and glad I had the opportunity to visit.
Hoppes #9… but that’s become a line of products as much as a single one. If its the “original” its a bore cleaner meant to dissolve carbon and lead deposits… I might be careful applying it too rubber if you like the lens. Go slow…
A few from a recent trip to Leighton’s neck of the woods. Clouds coming out of WV headed towards Capon and Shenandoah Valleys. Somewhere I’d like to visit again with more time.

I can smell Hoppes #9 just reading this post and that is a good thing. Should be a mens cologne
Love the black and white on this Matt

I decided this winter to try and reconfigure Lightroom filing to simplify backups and finding photos. Over the years and multiple LR versions I've had a mishmash of filing, naming, and tagging. Figured I'd at least get some semblance of order and uniformity in filing. As I come across MF shots that appeal to me, that don't have an "export" in the develop history, I may post them here and call them oldies.
