I've been in NZ a month now, busy working and converting the van at work after work.
I had a big catch up of 20 plus pages and have been hitting the like button a LOT
Had a chance to get out yesterday up to the top of the hill that overlooks Christchurch on one side and Lyttleton Harbour/Inlet on the other side. You can get the cable car up there but you can also drive up which is what I did.

Must be some great pie. Looking at the second picture at max resolution, there's a person with a blue beanie who seems to have had great eye contact with the camera.
Asking for a friend, how do you tell when Apple pie had no sugar added?
Siphiwe - have no clue other than asking, if you eat them often enough the taste is different.

For the essential Julian experience be sure to visit on the weekend!
I've experienced gridlock traffic before, but the place is so small it was claustrophobic.
At least it still exists, I thought it had burned down a few years ago.
It is a very Friendly town, all the locals beam with happiness at selling tons of pies for $20+.

For today's contribution from me, here are a few photos of Nile Creek from my D800E and, respectively, the 50 f/1.4 SC, the 16 f/3.5 Ai fisheye, and the 28 f/2 N.

The 16mm 3.5 sunstar through foliage is Brilliant Glen!!!
Continuing to use a favorite little lens, an excellent performer with great OOF: 3.5cm 2.5
There is more to the Julian area, more really to the San Diego Mountain area. These are low mountains, the highest is Palomar at 8,000 feet. They make for very pleasant two lane drives with many small wineries and parks to picnic or just relax.

Lovely set Glen. That creek looks perfect for a tenkara rod.
Harold, that weeping willow shot is fantastic! Love the blowing effect.
Rafael, I'm with Leighton, don't know if I'd wait in a line like that. Glad to see the success of a business like tht though, and the people in line seem content.
James, the B&W work from your 5DSR and 25-50 is super, especially love the clouds.
Jay, that deliberateness of monochrome and color in Estuary III is great. Something else I can put in the back of my head for further exploration.
Andy, thanks for sharing the NZ shot. Beautiful setting.
Glen, that Nile Creek fisheye pic is top notch, great eye!
I was forced to make the foreground monochrome in my last effort, the image had a lot of LOCA and a big pink blob in the middle.
I was trying out a hi transmission polarizing filter and the reflection from that 35mm PC's front element made the sand a differential hue that was unsetteling.
Below illustrates the sort of look I was angling for, not carnival wagon color but something other than B&W.
13 miles of mountain trails, a 30+ year old steel framed mountain bike and 20+ pound backpack with tripod this morning. Call it an enjoyable struggle
Only saw one person on horseback, one person on a mountain bike and lots of wildlife.
My destination was a small waterfall that I have not been to before. I had 3 water crossings and only had to take the shoes and socks off for one of them
Shot with the Z8 and LTM 2.5cm f/4 and one shot of the kit. As always I took way too much gear. One day I will learn... Nope...

Thanks Rafael. What do you mean about interesting results? I'm curious as I'm lazy and it seems to do a decent job (most of the time) of NR and sharpening in one. You can choose from High detail or original global processing or use masks. I always just do it globally, mostly original as the high detail one sometimes over sharpens but I think this time I used high detail.
Just wondered what your thoughts were as you mentioned it.
Great to see you out and about btw !
Andy

The effort was worth it.
I hope you remembered to pack a puncture repair kit and a few tools into that bag under your saddle.
Is that Peak Design travel pod? How does it fare? I have seen some B Friday deals and was tempted.
