More with the Nikkor 5cm f1.4SC (non-millenium) to follow's Rafael's samples from the other coast. This is on the Nikon S4 with Provia 100F.
Echoing the others, great set, but superb timing on the first one. Also appreciate the changing perspective you took as the sun went down.

That's great framing on that second shot, Samy.
Ray, there are of course many variations of the 50mm 1.4. As far as the 5cm 1.4 S.C goes, I believe the cm unit is used for the 1.4 rangefinder lens only. The 50mm 1.4 S.C would be a later variation of the F mount lens, and all 1.4 F mount production lenses are labeled in mm. The millennium 50mm is a new design reissue of the 5cm 1.4 rangefinder Olympic lens, it was made for the year 2000.
There were production 5cm 2.0 S and H F mount lenses, but no 1.4 F mount in cm (I think)
As far as enjoying the lenses, the 5cm 1.4 are nice and sharp in the center but the sides and corners not so much, the 50mm S.C is much better in this respect. Good prices are $150+ for the rangefinder and it needs an expensive adapter, at least $80, up to $300 for the adapter. The reflex lens can be had for $50+ and mounted on a $20 adapter, so it is the more practical choice.
The millennium lens is the last/newest design and is much better than either - but it will be $900+ and need the same expensive RF adapter.
here are two 5cm 1.4 S.C with the millennium in the center. The lens on the left is on the $80 chinese adapter set, the one in the center on the $300 Amedeo adapter.
And thanks to all for the comments on the sunset shots.

And final for tonight, here are two 8 foot high ladies, one a poster, one a statue -
Millennium at 1.4.
Rafael, you have a unique way with classic car photos, and your examples above show it well! I am also very taken with the statue of the properly lipsticked, lithe and late lady in your second dia de los muertos photo.
Here are a few more images from West Nile Creek through the eyes of my D800E and the 28 f/2 N (first two) and the 55 f/1.2 SC (last two).

Funny I had the same thoughts about the same time this morning. Our son is out doing field work and he always gives us a text to say hi and start the day. He is up with the chickens.
I settled on making waffles. I need a new Belgian waffle iron, the one I have is cheap and old. Not a good combination.

Thread warning - I think Scott and Matt are collaborating on playing the devil for the 28-50.

Nice pictures Rafael, you make me curious about RF Nikon lenses, sadly they are more expensive than F mount ones.
The 5cm f/2 F mount was only the S version, H was already in mm.
The 5cm f/2 S is a different optic than all other f/2 and f/1.8 50mm, 7 lenses instead of 6; at least for my copy sharpness at larger apertures is a little lower, but it has zero distortion.

Roberto, I ended up with two LTM 5cm 2.0 and three 5cm 1.4 S mount rangefinder lenses.
I do not really like any of them, they are good wide open and closer, as long as the edges don't matter, rendition is nice. For general use their edges are too soft at any aperture. This does not include the Millenium which is entirely different.
I do not have any RF exotics (except the Millennium and the R-Nikkor 5cm which is 1 of 2 in the world )
My personal opinion about the lenses that I own:
The 13.5cm 3.5 is Very good
The 10.5cm 2.5 is Excellent
The 8.5cm 2.0 is very good.
The R-Nikkor 5cm 3.5 is superlative, as long as it is shaded
The 50mm 1.4 Millennium is superlative period
The 5cm 1.4 S.C are good for some uses but just passable as an all use lens. Indoor portraits all day, landscapes never
The 5cm 2.0 S.C ditto
The 3.5cm 3.5 is a good lens but close it down
The 3.5cm 2.5 is an excellent lens - near perfect at 1:8 and great center from wide open
The 2.8cm 3.5 is a good lens, the corners suffer.
No formal tests, just an opinion. In general the F mount lenses are better than the equivalent RF lens, and cheaper too.
